The Sky Tram and Sky Walk tour is an amazing way to observe the canopy of the rainforest. Imagine gliding through the treetops on a gondola and then walking through the trails and canopy bridges on the Sky Walk tour!
After being picked up from your local area hotel, you will drive around Arenal Volcano and then on to the Sky Adventures facilities. The views to Arenal Volcano can be spectacular on clear days.
When you arrive at Sky, you will be paired up with a naturalist guide. You will then take a gondola style tram ride through the rainforest canopy up the mountain. Along the way your guide will point out the flora and fauna as well as tell you about the natural history of the area. When you reach the top you can walk along a short trail in search of wildlife or simply take in the views. After a little while you will take the tram back down to the base.
The Sky Walk adventure is next on the list. Your guide will accompany you and lead the way through groomed jungle trails in search of wildlife and discovery. The trail is 3.6 kilometers or 2.2 miles long over uneven terrain. There are five suspension bridges along the way allowing you a firsthand view into the canopy where 90 percent of all life lives in the rainforest. In addition to wildlife, your guide will also tell you about the natural history of the area and show you two jungle waterfalls from an observation platform.
After the tour you will be returned to your hotel. Including round trip transfers the tour is expected to last 4 – 6 hours, though this is subject to change. This is a great tour for anybody interested in learning about the rainforest canopy and wildlife that inhabits it.
