Get ready for an incredible adventure. Imagine scrambling through the rainforest and rappelling down waterfalls in the middle of the jungle!
After being picked up from your Manuel Antonio area hotel a transfer will be provided to the nearby mountains. A fun, but bumpy 4x4 ride through local villages and the jungle will take you back to the Xtreme Adventures facilities. When you arrive your guide will suit you up with the latest safety gear and then provide a brief instructional and safety course.
This thrilling adventure is located in one of the most biologically rich regions of Central America. While this is an adventure tour, you may have the possibility to see wildlife such as sloths, toucans, monkeys, iguanas, poison dart frogs and more. We say may as the entire focus of the tour is on adventure, but keep your eyes peeled as you may be able to enhance your experience!
The thrilling Xtreme Tours Canyoning course includes two waterfalls, a 416 foot suspension bridge, and a couple of natural pools. You will rappel down both waterfalls. One is 115 feet high and the other is 180 feet! You will also do straight rappels of 82 feet and another off the suspension bridge of nearly 200 feet! Then to top it all off, you will have the chance to free fall into a natural pool.
Of course, this is a canyoning tour, so you should expect some hiking through the forest and scrambling through the stream bed. While it is a physical activity, the majority of your weight will be transferred to the specialized equipment. Your guide will also have a secondary line for safety. No experience is necessary for this awesome tour, but you should bring along a good sense of adventure and keep in mind that this is not a tour for those that fear heights!
After the adventure you will be provided with a full Costa Rican style lunch. You will have time to reflect on the experience and talk about it with your fellow adventurers.
Following this amazing day, you will be returned to your local hotel. Including round trip transfers, the tour is expected to last around 5.5 hours, though this is subject to change due to the nature of the activity. This thrilling half day adventure includes transportation, guide, and meal.

This tour was amazing from start to finish! The guides were very helpful and safety was their first concern. I was a bit nervous going down the waterfall but I trusted the guides and they did't disappoint.

Spent more time traveling by car than doing the activity. There were only 3 waterfalls which were more of a trickle. We were done with the repelling within 30 mins.

This was by far my favorite excursion in Costa Rica!! The adrenaline rush was amazing and our tour guides were wonderful! This is probably the one adventure I would do-over again.

This was the highlight of our trip. Our family LOVED rappelling. Bayron and Donald were outstanding guides and we could not have asked for a better experience. We have been raving about our Rappelling experience months after our trip. The food was also incredible. Not only was this excursion the highlight of our vacation but it will be a family experience we will cherish for a lifetime. So very grateful for this experience!!!

The tour was fantastic. I am a little disappointed that pictures are an added expense. It would have been really nice to get some shots while on the trip and not have to commit to buying all the pictures before. Even if it would be an added expense - $30 is very expensive. Especially if my friend does not want to split the $30 with me.

This adventure needs an 11 or 12, absolutely the best. Bayron was a great guide and teacher and it was only the 3 of us. Highly recommend this adventure and we have great pictures for memories.

This tour was a lot of fun. There was, however, a lot of waiting involved in between rappels. It would have been better if there were additional guides or if the group had been split up.

The hanging bridge at the end of this tour was better than the hanging bridges in the actual hanging bridge tour!

This was the other major highlight of the trip. The family loved it. (Ages ranged from 22 to 62). Definitely not for the faint of heart but definitely the best way to experience Costa Rica well off the beaten track. The rappelling was a once-in-a-lifetime bucket list experience with a dramatic 4-wheeler ride in and out.

Byron Chavez, our guide, was tremendous. I tried to send a note of appreciation to the e-mail address he gave me but it wasn't delivered. He took extra care to make sure we old folks got down the waterfall safely. He made the experience so wonderful. Very talented guide!

This was something I had never done before and it surpassed expectations. We went at low season so there wasn't a lot of water but it worked out well since it was out first experience. The guides make you feel vey safe.

This was one of the best tours, a very unique experience. Tour guide was fantastic, and lunch was one of the best. The ride to the start was a bit rugged.
