There is nothing more amazing than watching a 40 ton Humpback whale show off its beauty with a jump in the air followed by a massive tail splash. This is what thousands of people have been witnessing in the Osa Peninsula area for many years. In fact, this area is considered to be one of the best places for whale and dolphin watching in the world. On this combo tour, depending on the season you’ll be in search of Humpback whales, Bottle Nosed dolphins, Spotted dolphins, sea turtles, bi-color parrot fish and more. Humpback whales visit Costa Rica between mid-July to late October and again in mid-December through late February.

Throughout your trip, you will stop at a few different landmarks to go whale watching and snorkeling, such as the Whale’s Tail, Ballena Island, Tres Hermanas Islets and Ventana Sea Caves. Your captain will choose the best spot for snorkeling depending on that day and you will have the opportunity to take advantage of the high-quality and clean snorkeling gear as you jump into the glimmering ocean waters to explore the colorful underwater world. Your guide and captain will tell you interesting facts about the surrounding vegetation and wildlife you may see.

You will also get to visit the Ventana Caves, a rock formation of over 200 caves created naturally through the tectonic movements of the earth created throughout thousands of years.

During your trip your guide will crack open the cooler and provide fresh tropical fruit, as well as water and beverages while you can relax and enjoy the sunshine and beautiful surroundings in paradise. Biggest disappointment of the trip. We originally just wanted to book whale watching but were told it wasn't really whale season so maybe pay the (huge) extra price to do a little extra and we did. We saw whales - which was great, everything else was a huge waste of time and money. There is no cave "exploring" -just looking at Playa Ventanas from a boat. The snorkeling was so disappointing everyone left the water after 5 minutes. Nothing to see but dead rock, and huge waves crashing into the rocks and they provided no flippers! I think they were re-using snorkels as well. People had to keep asking for water which was supposedly provided. Cannot believe the difference in price for this tour when they literally just drive a little further/longer in a boat than the standard whale watching tour. Was really, really disappointed. Don't do it.

Once again love this tour. Great tour guide. Snacks and education
The transfer to Uvita was great as well. I didn't see a spot for this, but I wanted you all to know they did a great job as well.
