Perfect for first timers and fun for the family, this full day rafting expedition is on the Rio Savegre, one of the best whitewater rafting rivers in Costa Rica. Your day will begin with a ride on a 4 x 4 through the rain forest following the Savegre River before arriving at the thatched roof pueblo of Silencio where you will stop for breakfast. After breakfast, you will want to put in your lunch order so that arrangements for your lunch will be in place for your return. Your guide and safety kayaker will go over all safety lessons and instructions while you board your rafts. You will be gradually introduced to Class II through Class IV rapids as your experienced guide safely helps you navigate these waters. There will be stops for swimming along the way as well as visiting waterfalls. Birding enthusiasts will appreciate the abundant species living in this area including parrots, toucans, ospreys, egrets, cormorants and kingfishers. The Rio Savegre is a perfect river for first timers or anybody that wants to experience the thrill of whitewater rafting without extreme rapids. Damas Island Riverboat Safari

The Damas Island Riverboat Ride is an amazing experience and opportunity to see numerous species of wildlife. The refuge is home to large populations of caimans and crocodiles, which can be observed at nearly every turn. It is not only reptiles though as the area is also home to Capuchin monkeys, anteaters, sloths and other mammals. Birdwatchers will delight as many species either live here or migrate through including parrots, toucans, roseate spoonbills, herons and other waterfowl. Regulations restrict bringing food into the park, and you may only bring water in with a reusable bottle. However, there is a new small food kiosk inside the park and water bottle refill stations.

Cano Island Biological Reserve Tour

Today you will visit the tropical Cano Island Biological Reserve Tour. The tour starts at Punta Uvita Beach and finishes at the same location with a boat trip of about one hour and half to the island. During the ride chances are likely to see whales and dolphins in their respective arriving seasons. You will also have time to go snorkeling above one of the best coral reefs in Costa Rica. Includes guide, lunch, and equipment. Transportation from your hotel to Punta Uvita beach may take up to one hour depending on lodging location. Extra cost would apply if you are staying in Dominical and Manuel Antonio areas.

Damas Island Kayaking Safari

The Damas Island Kayaking safari is an amazing experience that gives you the opportunity to see numerous species of wildlife. Birdwatchers will enjoy checking off many endemic or migrating species including parrots, toucans, roseate spoonbills, herons and other waterfowl. Some experience in open-seat kayaking is preferred, plus a reasonable fitness level is recommended since this adventure involves kayaking in an open seat kayak. The safari is available to children 7 years and older who may be required to paddle in a double kayak with an adult This fun filled half day wildlife expedition includes transportation, bilingual guide, and a meal. Depending on the tide table and the bus chedule, there may be a wait time for transportation which can be explained at time of booking.

Combo Tour Snorkeling, Caves, and Whale Watching

On this half-day combo tour, you’ll travel as a group to visit a number of different areas in search of humpback whales, bottle-nosed dolphins, and schools of colorful tropical fish. You will also have an opportunity to snorkel (dry season only - please see notes below) in two famous spots, one of which is a natural underwater cave. Extra cost would apply if you are staying in Dominical and Manuel Antonio area.

IMPORTANT: The snorkeling portion of this tour is only reliably good from December through April and is usually not included as an activity the rest of the year. Sometimes, when the weather is cooperative at other times of the year, snorkeling may be offered but should not be expected, and often the water clarity is not great. The Kayaking Adventure at Marino Ballena Park is an awesome adventure! The tour starts at low tide on the famous Whale Tail, where we will kayak out along the beautiful coastline. We will then snorkel above a rock and coral reef in search of tropical fish and marine life. After snorkeling, we will kayak a little more in the surf or mangroves. Scuba Diving Cano Island - Costa Rica Dive and Surf

Today you will go on a two tank Scuba Dive at the mysterious Isla del Cano. Cano Island is located 15 kilometers off the south Pacific coast. It was utilized by Pre-Columbian indigenous people as a sacred burial area and many artifacts remain. The day starts off with a drive down the coast and boat ride through the Sierpe Mangroves out to the Pacific Ocean and out to Cano Island This area is home to abundant marine life such as schools of Snapper, Jacks, Barracuda, White Tip Reef Sharks, Rays and sea turtles. You will also see volcanic rock formations, with many varieties of hard and soft corals. Visibility often exceeds 80 feet. Divers must be certified. Corcovado National Park Tour - Bahia Aventuras

Today you will go on a full day adventure to Corcovado National Park. The tour departs by boat from Punta Uvita in the morning. After an hour and a half we will reach the San Pedrillo Ranger Station. We will hike two separate trails, each around two hours long. With a little luck, your bilingual naturalist guide may be able to point out animals such as the four monkey or two sloth species that inhabit the park. Other animals include raccoon, anteaters, or possibly even tapirs or wild cats. Once the hiking is complete, we will eat lunch and boat back to Uvita. At different times of the year, there are many dolphins, whales and sea turtles in these waters which you may be able to see. This fun filled full day tour includes bilingual guide, park entrance fees, and lunch.

Snorkeling Tour at Marino Ballena National Park

Today you will go by boat to several high visibility snorkeling areas within Marino Ballena National Park. Your boat captain and guide will pick the best spots for the day and may include visiting Punta Uvita, Isla Ballena and Tres Hermanas Islands. Along the way, you’ll likely see a variety of shore birds and maybe playful dolphins, swimming turtles or jumping manta rays. Your guide will take you on guided underwater tours to see an abundance of colorful tropical fish and other interesting aquatic wildlife. Cold bottled water will be provided as well as a fresh fruit snack. This snorkeling tour is only offered during the local dry season, from December through April, to provide the best possible visibility. Tour includes park entrance fee, captain and bilingual guide, bottled water, fruit snack, and transportation from Uvita. One way transportation can take from 15 to 45 depending on where your hotel is located. Combined time of snorkeling trip and round trip transportation usually takes between 3.5 and 4.5 hours. Please wear a swimsuit, sun protective cover up, sunglasses, hat and sunscreen, plus bring along a towel and waterproof camera if you have one.

Whale and Dolphin Watching Marino Ballena National Park - Dolphin Tours

Offshore Sport Fishing 28 Foot Boat Full Day

Today you’ll go on an exciting whale and dolphin watching expedition in the vast protected waters of Marino Ballena National Park. For this tour, transportation from your hotel in Uviva, Dominical, and Ojochal is included. If you have a rental car, you can arrive at the Dolphin Tours Office in Uvita at 8:15 a.m.. Once the excursion began, you’ll cruise the open waters passing interesting landmarks searching for whales and dolphins while observing other available wildlife such as shorebirds and sea turtles that you may encounter. Humpback whales are typically seen while migrating to these local breeding grounds from December to March and again between mid-July to late October although some species live in these waters year round. There is no guarantee you will see a whale, but the chances are high especially during these months. Cold water and a fresh fruit snack will be provided. Sometimes, if weather permits, you may be able to snorkel for a little while, though this is not guaranteed. This tour includes park entrance, a chartered boat, bilingual guide, safety gear, bottled water and fruit snack. It can take between 15 and 45 minutes to get from your hotel to the Dolphin Tours office depending on your hotel’s location and traffic. The time of boat tour typically takes from 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Tour to the Mangroves of Terraba

Today you will go on by riverboat to cruise through the Mangrove trees in the Terraba Forest Reserve. You’ll learn the unique contribution Mangroves make to marine and bird life and the fascinating adaptation they have made to survive with above ground breathing roots. Costa Rican rivers provide thrilling Class lV whitewater rafting opportunities including this tour specifically for experienced rafters or those who are in top physical shape seeking an extreme adventure. The Rio Naranjo cascades down the mountains bordering the Pacific Coast charging through a winding course including jungle gorges and rocky curves filled with Class lll and Class lV rapids. With amazing views along the way, this half-day tour will keep your heart pumping. Professional guides with safety kayaker training will take you on this seven-mile adrenaline run from mountain top to sea level. Round trip transportation by shuttle included from Manuel Antonio but for other outlying areas, such as Jaco or Dominical, there is an additional shuttle fee.
