Well known as the adventure capital of Costa Rica, La Fortuna offers an abundance of adventure activities such as ziplining, horseback riding, hiking, canyoning, whitewater rafting, safari cruises, plus indulging in the many geothermal hot springs created by the iconic Arenal Volcano. At the foot of the volcano, beautiful Lake Arenal stretches for 35 miles surrounded by picturesque verdant green hills.
Back at the hotel, your sure to enjoy the gracefully designed mineral spring-fed pools placed in romantic settings. Separate yoga and meditation decks offer an opportunity to commune with nature while the 24-hour modern fitness center has everything you need to keep you looking buff. You’ll find you can walk out of your cabin and into the rainforest following two well-kept trails that will take you along a creek through the lush jungle to a waterfall. The hotel also offers a 3 hour guided horseback ride starting at the property and going through the forest that can include a picnic or a stop to soak in the hot springs.
Amor Arenal Hotel’s main Restaurant, El Rancho, serves a stellar morning breakfast buffet included with your stay. In addition to breakfast, it is open for lunch and dinner with both buffet and menu offerings. La Jaranita offers a light fare of ala carte tapas and specialty cocktails. Here you can enjoy nighttime entertainment with live music and occasional karaoke. The swim-up Tuanis Wet Bar offers an ala carte menu and refreshing drinks. The hotel takes pride in presenting you with food from its organic gardens and ensuring your meal comes from plants and animals raised in healthy and humane conditions, such as free-range chickens, pasture-raised beef, and fish caught in local waters. The thirty-one private luxury eco casitas offer either one king or two queen beds, with high-quality bedding. In addition to your spa plunge pool on the generous outside deck, all rooms come with air conditioning, fans, smart TV, free WiFi, laptop safe, internet phone, complimentary mini-fridge, large closet, robe, and slippers, plus private open bath facing the rain forest featuring a double-headed rain shower. Every cabin has a spectacular volcano and canyon view.

This hotel and staff were amazing! We had a server a few times name Leonardo? Who was great and pointed out a ton of wildlife that we would have missed. Upon arrival, very late, they had prepared us dinner and had it waiting when we checked in after the long travel day. Great place and great people!

We have stayed at different hotels during our travels to different countries. By far, Amor Arenal is the best in the categories that matter to us. I have 2 comments however: 1) Lack of a table and chair where you can put your drink or food. My wife had to eat her to-go breakfast in bed instead of on a regular table which is typically how we eat. 2) At casita no.8 where we stayed, there is a step on the walkway leading to the front door that is practically invisible after sunset. For safety, I think there should be some form of illumination on that step so the guest could readily see it.

This is probably the best hotel I've ever stayed at. It was above expectations on all fronts (and I had pretty high expectations). It seemed like every detail of the guest experience was thought of and it was pretty much a perfect experience.

Wonderful hotel, beautiful spot. Loved the cabina which was comfortable, very private, amazing view and private hot tub. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we loved the restaurant staff, especially Mario who went out of his way to take care of us. Highly recommend and want to visit again.

The Amor Arenal was the nicest resort we have ever stayed in. The staff there are so kind and accommodating. The food was delicious, especially the free breakfast. The rooms and private jacuzzi area's are absolutely beautiful.

The staff here deserve a 5 star designation! Everyone we encountered was so kind and helpful. Obvious attention to detail has been given to everything on the grounds. Only thing I wish is that I had one day we didn't plan excursions so I could have spent more time on their trails/yoga and meditation platform.

The entire experience was great from start to finish. The staff was amazingly helpful and the bar tenders even went so far as to go to the kitchen to secure items for a custom drink my wife asked for. The restaurant staff was excellent and the hotel's maintenance staff even removed a flat tire from my rental car and repaired it in their garage and put it back on the car at no charge (I tipped the staff handsomely for going so far out of their way).

Our room was missing a headboard so we had to place a pillow there so our pillow did not fall off the bed. The door did not shut completely without pulling it shut so we came back a few times after housekeeping was there and the door was wide open. Fabio and Oscar were great at the bar and the service and golf cart drivers were top notch!

Amor Arenal is a must stay! We loved how private and beautiful the casitas were and the staff treated us like we were VIPs from the second we pulled up. The breakfasts were awesome. The dinner food was good but definitely overpriced. I would recommend checking out some of the places in town a bit more but beyond that our stay was perfect. The pools and other amenities were exceptional. Can't speak highly enough of this place!

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we arrived after along day of travel to be greeted and beautifully welcomed at the entry of Amor Arenal. The reception area was perfect, we were all admired the architectural details of the seating area with refreshments while our bags were unloaded and the genuine kindness of the team who welcomed us was just the beginning of a perfect stay. The casita that we stayed in was so well done, the beds were so comfortable, the hot tub, the shower with the glass wall and the design of the windows framed the view of the volcano! The food was wonderful and again the team of people on staff at Amor Arenal really make it exceptional, we hope this special place is enjoyed by many!
