Arenal Lodge is a 3 star eco-lodge located right outside the town of La Fortuna. The eco-lodge offers guests a unique panoramic view of the Arenal Volcano. Guests of Arenal Lodge will enjoy amenities such as swimming pool, Jacuzzi, internet access, restaurant, bar, entertainment space, room service, fireplace, tropical gardens, and nature trails.
The La Fortuna area offers plenty of activities such as a visit to the Hanging Bridges, ATV off road tours, Canopy Zipline and hot springs. A horseback ride tour to the La Fortuna Waterfalls is time very well spent. This tour involves a horseback ride along a quiet country road in front of Arenal Volcano that leads you to the La Fortuna Waterfalls. There is an observation point at the top looking out at the falls, or for those that want a closer look, you can climb down and back up over 300 stairs to the base, where you can even take a swim in the fall-fed natural pool. Nature lovers will enjoy the views and freshness that the La Fortuna Waterfall offers.
Though the options are plentiful in the La Fortuna area, you may prefer lounging around the swimming pool at Arenal Lodge. You might also want to relax and read a book in the hammock. You will be connected as the eco-lodge offers free wireless internet service.
The rooms at Arenal Lodge include Standard Room, Superior Room, Family Suite, Junior Suite, Master Suite, Chalet and the Matrimonial Suite.
The Standard Room provides coffee maker, cable TV, telephone, alarm clock, in-room safe and hair dryer.
The Superior Room provides Superior Rooms feature coffee maker, cable TV, telephone, alarm clock, in-room safe, hair dryer, and a panoramic view of Arenal Volcano.

The Master Suite provides bathroom with shower and bath tub, 2 queen beds in a spacious setting, sitting room surrounded by glass windows, private balcony with volcano view, kitchenette, cable TV, telephone, alarm clock, digital safe and hair dryer.
The Chalet provides single sofa bed, reclining chair or rocking chair, small kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, cable TV, ceiling fans, and a floor-to-ceiling glass-front wall giving you a direct lava-flow view of the volcano.
The Matrimonial Suite provides air conditioning, sitting room, bathroom with Jacuzzi, kitchenette, microwave oven, small refrigerator, coffee maker, cable TV, telephone, alarm clock, in-room safe, and a hair dryer.

Highlight of our trip was this lodge! The staff is incredible, the beds could be a little more comfy but we had junior suites. I'm sure the shalets are much higher quality beds.

The views from the hotel are incredible, but the drive up to the hotel is challenging and made getting in and out of town more difficult. Some of the staff were very helpful, others just ok. The restaurant staff was very inattentive most of the time. The rooms were adequate and got the job done.

This a nice eco lodge. I've stayed here before and have never been let down. Most people we met were happy but some probably belonged at a bigger resort with more amenities. The lodge is about 40 minutes from town so it was nice to have our rental car. Even the grounds are spread out. We had a suite near the front desk, but some of the other rooms are up on a hill or further down another hill. I'd recommend a rental car to anybody staying here. The lodge itself is on a big private reserve. We saw tons of animals, especially birds at breakfast. The volcano was clouded over this time but was clear the last time we went and the views were spectacular. The breakfast buffet is good. The steak we had for dinner was excellent. I think to appreciate this lodge you have to want to stay at a real eco lodge. We enjoyed looking for frogs in the gardens at night and all of the wildlife. The rooms are nice enough but ould use a little updating and brighter lighting. We joked that some of our friends would hate the rustic feel but again, it was perfect for us.
