Get ready for a crazy adventure riding ATVs across the diverse countryside next to Arenal Volcano. On this power packed tour, you’ll ride double driving at high speeds over rural fields before heading into the rainforest where private trails will take you down to jungle rivers.
Starting from your Arenal based hotel, you’ll be taken to the ATV headquarters where your guides will go over how to use the equipment safely. You’ll both climb aboard, rev up, and head out for a double dose of fun.
Cruising through open fields in front of the volcano and across private farmland, you’ll come to an awesome course taking you slip sliding into the mud along a small stream bed. On a clear day, you’ll have your own offroad special view of the majestic volcano.
You’ll likely get wet and muddy so dress accordingly and bring an extra set of dry clothes. After your amazing experience “in the field” you’ll ride back to headquarters where you can shower in the bathrooms. You’ll probably work up quite an appetite and be ready for the hearty lunch provided on site which is included in the tour. Afterward you’ll be driven back to your local Arenal hotel.

We had a very good time on this Tour, however equipment (helmets in particular) were dirty from prior use, and the lunch afterwards at La Cava was not ready when we arrived and once it was served we felt a bit rushed to finish eating in order to leave to get transferred back to our hotel. But overall we still enjoyed this tour and guides were great.

We found it was too extreme for 70 and 80 year olds. They did a good job of helping us. I rode behind the guide freeing up my husband to have a lighter ATV, but he was very stressed. I had fun behind the guide, but it still was stressful.

The guides were did an amazing job keeping everyone safe. I personally felt a little uneasy about driving the ATV but the guides provided great direction and optional paths for us to feel comfortable on. By the end I felt like an expert. My husband who is more experienced driving an ATV suggested that they have 2 paths, one for experienced riders and one for not as experienced drivers. There is a 20 minute stop down by the river towards the end of the trip which was really nice. The restaurant that they took us to for lunch was great. The food was ready promptly when we arrived!

Fun! Pacific Tradewinds should offer 2 and 4 seater for adults with kids. My son loved the 2-seater better!

Great guides, cool tour, only wish we had gotten a little closer to the volcano.

I had to ride with my daughter and the seat was small for us 2, I was Pushed all the way up and there was not enough room on the seat.. a bigger seat on another ATV would have been great. Or recommending other options like a 4 person vehicle and I would Drive my kids

This tour was so much fun, we're still talking about it. It was a great mix of adventure and just all out fun. We returned from this tour with childlike exuberance, amidst all the dirt, dust, and mud we picked up along the way. This tour was truly Pura Vida!!

This was a fun adventure but also totally terrifying! I choose to ride double with my husband and even through we aren't big people, the ATV didn't seem near big enough for two of us. This excursion is truly for folks who have a thrill seeking soul and don't mind getting dirty. We have personal ATVs at home so we figured this would be right up our alley, but the trail is muddy, has very deep ruts and seems to go straight up and straight down at times. The trail through the rain forest area was probably my favorite since we slowed way down and went slow. They also take you down a rural road to have a break next to a beautiful stream which was very nice. Overall, the excursion was fun but probably the most terrifying adventure we had, although that could be based on the fact that my husband has a general need for speed!
