Indian Reserve Talamaca Waterfalls and Chocolate tour

Today you will go on a tour of one of the Bri Bri tribe’s indigenous villages where you will be shown how they live and taught how to make chocolate. Afterwards you will be taken to the Talamanca Waterfalls where you may go for a swim or just take a rest and enjoy the view. During the tour you will be treated to a hearty traditional Costa Rican midday meal, a combination of beans and rice plus meat, fish or vegetable choice, salsa, tortillas and garnishes. This Indian Reserve tour at Puerto Viejo includes a bilingual guide, lunch, drink and transportation from Cahuita, Puerto Viejo and Punta Uva. One way transportation from your hotel to the indigenous village may take from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on your pick-up location. Combined time of village visit, chocolate-making workshop, waterfall hike and swim, lunch and round trip transportation can take from 4 to 5 hours. Cahuita National Park

Today you will be picked up and taken for a guided hike inside Cahuita National Park, part of a designated World Heritage site protecting the beach, rainforest and coral reefs found in this uniquely diverse area. Your local naturalist guide will help you spot and identify the visible wildlife on the day of your visit. After your hike, lunch will be provided. Come prepared to relax and enjoy your day spent in the park by bringing your binoculars, camera, comfortable enclosed hiking shoes, insect repellent, sunblock, rain gear, drinking water and snacks. This tour includes a professional bilingual guide, transportation, park entrance and lunch. One way transportation to the park will take at least 15 minutes from the village of Cahuita and up to 1 hour from Puerto Viejo. The entire tour including round trip transportation and lunch can take between 5.5 and 8 hours depending on the location of your hotel and up to a 2 hour wait for additional groups in the park to complete their activities. You can use this time to rest after your hike, write in your travel log, sort through your photos or take a few selfies at one of the most beautiful areas in Central America!

Cahuita National Park and Snorkeling Combo

In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to Cahuita National Park where a bilingual guide will lead you through the rain forest to look for wildlife such as the monkeys, sloths, iguanas, Morphos butterflies, birds and snakes that live there. The afternoon continues with an awesome snorkeling adventure swimming over vibrant protected coral formations. During the day lunch will be provided before the return trip to your hotel. Come prepared to maximize this experience with your camera, binoculars, completely enclosed walking shoes, insect repellent, This tour includes transportation from Cahuita or Puerto Viejo, park entrance, certified guide, snorkeling equipment and lunch. One way transportation to the park will be approximately 15 minutes from the village of Cahuita, and up to 1 hour from Puerto Viejo. Combined time of tour, lunch and round trip transportation can be up to 8 hours. If the weather negatively affects the visibility underwater, the snorkeling portion of the tour may be canceled, and you will be refunded $10. The best months for the snorkeling tour are March, April, May, August, September, or October.

Surf Lesson in Puerto Viejo

Today you will go on a 3 to 4 hour guided hike at the The Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge. This is one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful wildlife conservation areas with remarkable trails that will lead you on an expedition through the lush rain forests, up to a scenic overlook, then down along the beach surrounded by live coral reefs. You will also pass by some hotels and rental homes. This tour includes local bilingual nature guide, snack, bottled water and transportation from Cahuita, Puerto Viejo and Punta Uva. It can take from 20 minutes to 1.5 hours to get from your hotel to the the wildlife refuge, depending on your pick-up location. Combined time of hiking tour, beach break and round trip transportation is typically between 5 and 6 hours. Please wear hiking shoes and a swim suit under your clothes if you would like to swim at the beach; plus bring insect repellent, sun screen, camera, binoculars and a towel. This hike is suitable for people over the age of 12 who are in good physical condition.

Surf's up and stress is down! Today you will finally take the leap and learn how to surf! To start your adventure, you will meet your instructor for your 2-hour surf lesson. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider wanting to maximize your experience, this beach provides a variety of wave types to match your skill level. Your instructor will go over the technique on shore before heading out in the water with you to help you find your groove. This tour includes a bilingual instructor, rash guard, and surfboard for the lesson. Transportation is not included in this lesson but is easy to arrange. Today you will go on a guided tour to two farms within villages of the Bri Bri reservation. These are indigenous villages with roots to the original people of Costa Rica. The Bocas del Toro One Day Tour is an amazing guided tour that will take you over the border into Panama to go dolphin watching and snorkeling. It also includes breakfast, lunch, and a snack. You’ll be traveling both by private bus and boats and your bilingual guides may change during the day. Border fees are not included and must be paid in U.S. cash. Typically, the total cost for both entering and leaving the country will be $17 per person but check when you book as prices are subject to change.
