If you have the need for speed, then the ATV tour is a great activity for you! ATVs are small, fast personal off road vehicles that allow you to speed through trails. These tours are generally provided with high quality ATVs, guide and safety equipment. The tour usually starts off with a safety course and then you are on your way to high speed adventure!
There are many Costa Rica ATV tours to choose from. With that said, you should be careful that the company you are dealing with has the proper licensing with ICT, MOPT and carries ample insurance. There are a lot of unregistered companies out there. As this is not the safest activity, choosing the wrong company could be a big problem.
Drivers of ATVs must be at least 16 years old and possess a valid drivers license. You will always be required to present this, so be sure to bring it with you on the tour. Most Costa Rica ATV tour operators will allow kids over 12 years old to ride double with their parents or guide. Always check policies with the provider before reserving.

Tamarindo: The Tamarindo ATV tour is located on a private ranch a few miles inland. It will take you through tropical dry forest, back roads and trails. The tour is a couple hours long and includes transportation from and back to your hotel, guides and quality gear. The tour can also be combined with canopy zipline or horseback riding.
Montezuma: The Montezuma tour is is a great tour to explore the back roads and trails of the southern Nicoya Peninsula. The tour is through an interesting mixture of rain and dry forest and includes transportation, guides, and quality ATVs.
