This was the best hotel we stayed at. Our Jr. Suite (80's building) was huge with a separate area with a desk which was perfect for my husband to get work done, giant bathroom, balcony with a hot tub and the pool right outside our room. It was absolutely the most beautiful setting. It seemed out of the way, but it was actually the best place to see the sunset each night, the food in the restaurants was really good. The infinity pool was beautiful as was their beach. We spent an entire day at the beach almost entirely to ourselves. We swam in the water (there are rocks, not soft sand, so we wore our keens); we found sea slugs in the tide pools at low tide, we had lunch from the beach shack, we saw too many macaws to count, I held a motmot! We hiked down to the beach, but don't recommend it - its very steep and my calves were sore for days afterwards - so take the hotel provided shuttle. The only thing that would have made our stay better is if the shuttle picked up from the beach later than 3:30 pm. If you stay here, book the catamaran to tortuga island early - it was sold out when we got there. Although, we were happy to just spend the day at the hotel. We will definitely return!

Great room, great view. Nice private beach! Food is very expensive at this hotel and what we had to eat was not very good. We hired a taxi to go into town to eat. Very friendly tour desk, we purchased an ATV tour through them which was great. Front desk wasn't very nice. Upon arrival we had to wait over an hour for our room. Overall this is a great place to stay, just wish the food was better and a little less expensive.
