Snorkeling Tours
Imagine snorkeling Costa Rica’s tropical islands, coral reefs, and underwater marine life in the warm beautiful waters of the Caribbean or Pacific Ocean! Millions of years ago the pressure of 2 tectonic plates pushed Central America up from the sea floor forming a bridge from North to South America. This geological history began an abundance of biodiversity creating new ecosystems found all along the coastal regions, enhanced by the mineral rich waters from volcanoes. Typically, calm and clear conditions prevail for snorkelers to swim with schools of fish and experience the vibrancy of a wide variety of sea creatures easily found living in the rocks and reefs close to shore. In addition to the many brightly colored tropical fish, huge sea turtles or rays may be swimming in the area, and if you’re traveling by boat, you’ll almost always see a dolphin or two.

IMPORTANT: The snorkeling portion of this tour is only reliably good from December through April and is usually not included as an activity the rest of the year. Sometimes, when the weather is cooperative at other times of the year, snorkeling may be offered but should not be expected, and often the water clarity is not great. It is important to consider that if you do not have experience traveling in small boats in the open sea where the boat is constantly moving, you may experience seasickness and dizziness. This is not the responsibility of the provider and often a motion sickness pill will not prevent you from feeling this way. Please take this into consideration before booking the activity as it is your own responsibility, not the tour operator or PTW.
