The Sky Tram tour is a unique way to observe the rainforest of the Arenal Volcano area. Imagine soaring through the tree tops on a gondola as you observe flora and fauna.
The tour begins with a transfer from your local area hotel. The Sky Tram facilities are located on the opposite side of the volcano than most area hotels. On the way, you will pass by the iconic volcano, which is magnificent on clear days.
When you arrive at the facilities you will be assigned with a guide who will accompany you on the gondola ride up the mountain. The gondolas are handicap accessible making this a perfect tour for most people with disabilities. As you glide up the mountain you will be able to observe flora and fauna. The views are spectacular when weather permits. Your guide will point out any wildlife and tell you about the natural history of the area.
There is a short trail at the top for those that would like to stretch their legs and get a little closer to nature. Butterflies and hummingbirds frequent the area. Every once in a while you monkeys and other wildlife pass through. After walking around or relaxing at the top you will take the tam back down to the base.
A transfer will be provided back to your hotel after the tour. In addition to round trip transportation the Sky Tram tour includes a bilingual guide.

Very short tram ride. Luckily we were allowed to walk the path down instead of taking the tram down. We walked through the Rainforest which was great. Nice view from up there!

Depite the pouring pouring rain was loved this excursion and watching the kids take off on the 1st zipline was great.

This was the most disappointing excursion of our trip. The actual tram ride was less than 10 minutes. We were expecting the tram to take us through the treetops, with some running commentary from our guide. In fact, the guides were taking others to the zip-lining site, and we were dropped off at a trailhead (we chose the hiking option) that lead back down to the staging area (no guide accompanied us). While the hike down was pleasant, without a guide, I'm sure we missed a lot. Very poor value for the money.

We liked the Sky Tram very much. We appreciated the guide's ability to stop the tram when there was a monkey or bird to observe and photograph. We wished that was a longer trip.

I understand that the travel company was trying to find stuff for our whole family with a 5 year old, but this was not a tour it was a quick tram ride to where everyone ziplined from. Of course my older kids wanted to zipline. I will say the company was very nice and upgraded me and my older boy to the zipline for just the extra it would have cost on the tram cost. Great company it just is really not a tour.

Our tour guide was amazing she took some amazing pictures of us!! The wait was a little bit like 30 mins to get on the tram, normally would not care but with a small child its hard to wait anywhere!!

Also somewhat of a disappointment. The location and vistas of course are superb. However having one guide to serve two trams made if difficult to hear and get much out of the tour itself. Basically turned into a self guided trip up and own on the tram. I guess in hindsight we should have also opted for the zip line as clearly this is the main attraction.

What a view. We Morphodidius Butterfly's everywhere. The view is incredible. We did not zip line which is what everyone else did.

Was disappointed with this excursion. Thought we would have better views from the tram. My husband did the ziplining and said it was great.
