Pros (a short list): on the beach, has a restaurant, and is easy walk to shops, restaurant was pretty good, chairs and umbrellas provided, good breakfast on weekdays, fridge in the room, clean room, safety deposit box and bathroom, large shower, beach towels, can pay in colons, had balconies that viewed the pool and most of the staff were nice.

Now for the cons. This is a small, run down hotel on Jaco beach.

Room: Only 1 key for the room, 2 squeaky double beds, pillows are like cotton candy that kind of dissolve when you lie on them, fridge but no ice trays, doors have large gaps, not sure what is holding in the balcony doors, electrical plugs are hidden and I could not plug in my cpap and had to move a dresser to plug in chargers, ugly paint, few to no English channels on the tv, our air conditioner wouldn't work properly and after 3 days we gave up asking for them to come and fix it again as we were leaving.

Bathroom: no where to put anything, shampoo and soap together in a container on the wall, did have some small bath soaps for the sink, no toilet paper roll hanger so it sat on top of the toilet, to flush the toilet it was had to hold the button in and on the last day would not flush at all, the toilet would groan loudly which could be heard next door at our friends room.

Location: Although close to other amenities, walking around at night going back to the hotel was a bit intimidating.

Beach: There was a lovely man who would provide you with beach chairs, umbrella, drinks and food it you desired. He worked so very hard and never stopped! However, some of the chairs and umbrellas he had to work with were patched together with screws, and glue! The beach was lovely except for the rocks which when the tide was up, you had no choice but to wear water shoes. When the tide was down you could walk down with sandals and take them off to go into the ocean. Of course it's wavy - lots of surfers with a surf school down the beach. This is not a private beach so anyone can be there. Even some older man who had this huge stereo that took up the back of his vehicle decided that everyone for miles would like to hear his music!! I didn't and asked him to turn it down. It's okay to play music but also be respectful of others.

Security: Although the pool, restaurant and front desk closes at 10 p.m., there is supposed to be a security person there. Our first night there was a party happening in the pool until 3-4 a.m. No one stopped them, so I have to wonder where the security person was! Another night the pool and restaurant was occupied later than 10 p.m. again, but didn't go as late and was less noisy.

Swimming pools?: Very weird with several little pool areas. Very small. Went to the ocean instead.

Breakfast on Weekends: limited buffet only

The best part was location and the fact we could pay in colons. Would I go back - emphatic NO.
