We loved this hotel. It was the perfect way to ease into our adventure. Very relaxing with lots of activities if you want them. We rented jet skis on the beach, went for walks to explore and really enjoyed the amenities of the hotel. You can tell that they strive for excellence and have a high standard. We felt comfortable there and always had the support of staff if we needed it. We did need to replace our room key almost every day as it stopped working. Not a big deal. Food was fantastic, especially the breakfast buffet. I woke up really early to head to the beach. I felt totally safe but just to add to the service, a staff person was always present and keeping an eye out. Love love love it here and really hope to return. I have never experienced such luxury!

The hotel was clean with great access to the beach, but there was construction near my room and the overall appearance of the exterior of the hotel buildings was not attractive (very gray). This hotel selection was my personal choice so my choice was okay. The Makoko restaurant was overpriced (even though we did all-inclusive dining for all three days) and was not good tasting. It only had seafood, beef or a separate vegan/vegetarian menu. I eat mostly chicken but tried the fish there. The breakfast was great, with a nice variety of fresh/local cuisine everyday. The Matiss restaurant had more delicious food, especially for chicken dishes but is more Americanized. The hotel staff was very helpful/friendly. The hotel has beach access to Papagayo and the hotel has a lot of amenities, especially for water/beach activities. The hotel doesn't have a hot tub but had a sauna. Also, there was a guy from Louisiana on the beach along the hotel that was loud and solicits his own boating business, but he made me very uncomfortable and he was there everyday.
