Punta Uva
Punta Uva is a small sea side fishing village located along the southern Caribbean coast. The area is best known for having some of the most spectacular white sand, palm studded beaches in Costa Rica. There is a shallow reef in front of the beaches which is excellent for scuba diving and snorkeling.
What to Expect at Punta Uva
The town is made up of a few dirt roads, a handful of shops and restaurants and a couple small hotels. There is definitely a comfortable laid back feel about the town. This is a great destination for those seeking a laid back Rasta vibe and great beaches.
Weather and Packing List
The Southern Caribbean is a region of vast contrasts in weather. Temperatures remain the same nearly year round with average day time highs in the low 90s and night time lows in the upper 70s. Precipitation varies by month with the months of February, March, September and October being the driest.
Visitors should pack a bathing suit, towel, shorts, tee shirts, appropriate shoes, rain gear, sun block, and insect repellent.
Fun Fact: Punta Uva is one of the few beaches in Costa Rica where one can swim out to a coral reef.
