Not good at all. The furnishings and linen in the room was old and bad.

Poco a Poco Hotel and Spa in Monteverde offers a harmonious blend of cloud forest adventure and serene relaxation. Guests can unwind in the heated indoor pool or outdoor hot tub after exploring the nearby Cloud Forest Reserve. Comfortable rooms and spacious suites, some with private terraces or hot tubs, provide a restful retreat amidst landscaped gardens and sustainable practices.
A warm swim after a cloud forest outing is one of Poco a Poco Hotel and Spa's inviting pleasures. The heated indoor pool and outdoor hot tub make it easy to move from an active Monteverde day to an afternoon devoted to unwinding. Landscaped gardens, a restaurant and Naroa Spa and Wellness give you reasons to enjoy the hotel itself rather than fill every hour with an excursion.
Walk through the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, look for the region's birds or take a canopy tour for a different perspective on the treetops. Ziplining and horseback riding bring other possibilities. Coming back to Poco a Poco can be part of the anticipation: a swim in warm water, a soak outside or a spa treatment before dinner.
The comfortable rooms and spacious suites provide a restful place between those experiences. Categories have different layouts and comforts, with some offering terraces or hot tubs. Compare the accommodation if private outdoor space or a more secluded soak is part of the stay you have in mind; those features belong to particular choices.
Fresh, locally sourced ingredients bring local flavors and international dishes together in the restaurant. Its cozy atmosphere and cloud forest views make an evening meal part of enjoying the hotel, rather than another journey after a day out. Allow time to linger over dinner, then decide how much of tomorrow you want to spend away.
The gardens leave room for quieter moments between meals and excursions. Energy-efficient lighting, recycling and water-saving practices form part of the property's conservation approach, connecting the workings of the hotel with the landscape around it. Helpful staff can offer local recommendations and assist with requests as you shape your Monteverde plans.
Keep the Pacific Trade Winds spa benefit’s treatment terms in mind when choosing time at Naroa Spa and Wellness. If workouts are part of your holiday, confirm gym availability before your stay. Poco a Poco's appeal is in the balance: outdoor discovery, comfortable accommodation and worthwhile time devoted to the hotel itself.

Beautiful grounds and view, nice restaurant with an ample menu. The pool was too cool to use, since it is under cover and gets no sun to warm it, but we did enjoy the hot tub. It would have been nice to have some storage space in the room for clothes -- couldn't unpack.

This was the smallest of our rooms but the hotel was quiet. There was not a lot of choices for breakfast but everything was tasty. The hotels location near the center of town made up for the smaller rooms without closets. Housekeeping was great. We loved the hot tub too.

This is tricky to review. The hotel was older and didn't have the amenities that we would have liked but it was the only hotel in Santa Elena that had a pool and where we could walk to the town. We very much enjoyed being able to walk around town to the various (and delicious) restaurants and also to the grocery store across the street. The grounds of the hotel were lovely with lots of mature and beautiful plants. I think it is a good choice for the area. We wish that we had only stayed two nights here instead of three. It was an overall good experience.

Could have used a fridge in the room

We enjoyed staying in this hotel.
Loved proximity to town. While they weren't 5 star they didn't set a 5 star expectation so we were happy.

We LOVED Poco a Poco! The pool was fantastic and the tours we scheduled from there were first rate!

Really, my only complaint was the road noise. Trucks and motorcycles were very loud all night long.

The first room was not great and did not meet our expectations. We enjoyed ourselves more when we moved, but wish we didn't have to move.

Very nice hotel. Loved the breakfast each morning. The pool was very cold and the hot tub warm. The grounds though small are beautiful.

Breakfast was AMAZING every day. Not much interaction with staff other than checking in.

The grounds and pool were amazing! Very nice set up. The restaurant and breakfast were excellent. The room was small but adequate. Within walking distance of downtown.

this was probably the worst part of the trip.

We had high-velocity winds the whole time we were in this location. One huge disappointment was the tepid temperature of the hot tub. It was only 93 degrees F. Hardly warm. I love going to hot tubs, but one trip to this barely warm tub left me disappointed.

Nice hotel and elegant restaurant on premises. The pool is covered and beautiful but too cold to swim in. The weather was very windy, which I guess is typical for this area. The hotel met our expectations. Not resort-like, but a nice hotel.

Bathrooms could be a little nicer. But overall, a nice and interesting hotel. Staff was very helpful.

Great staff. Great location in town. Close to everything. We could have spent more time there.

I think our slight disappointment with this place was partially due to off season. There was very little staff, none at the pool, but always someone at the front desk for questions which was good. The big jacuzzi was what we complained about, but even after they upgraded us, the jacuzzi in the honeymoon sweet was toilet bowl cleaner blue. I assume that because it is so remote of a location, the same level of luxury/service that the Arenal resort offered is not possible there. There was nothing else wrong with the hotel, it was clean and comfortable otherwise. Two days was plenty here.

Very nice, friendly, and helpful people. Great atmosphere, food, location. Overall absolutely nothing negative to say. Would highly recommend.

Guests need to request a lower floor if they have any physical challenges.

It was disappointing that we didn't have a fridge in our room considering that we had a grocery store across the street. We did have a little issue with ants getting in the (very tiny balcony) door. Quite expensive for what we had....bathroom desperately needs a update.

The room was so small there was no where to even put our bags to get things out. It was fine for 2 nights but would not stay for longer than that. Staff was very nice.

After Finca Luna Nueva Lodge we felt like in a cage. Small room. Hotel itself would be more less OK but having quite cold weather in the evening and strong wind there were no where to go. Hotel premises are quite small. Happy that stayed there only nights.

Hotel was lovely but rooms were small. The restaurant at this hotel was the best restaurant for food quality and value during our entire vacation!! Amazing food and staff.
