Senda Monteverde Hotel offers a sophisticated retreat nestled within Costa Rica's cloud forest, providing guests with contemporary rooms and suites featuring private outdoor spaces like balconies or terraces. The hotel blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings, offering garden paths for birdwatching, a swimming pool and jacuzzis for relaxation, and a restaurant serving local and international cuisine with panoramic forest views. Its commitment to sustainability, coupled with personalized service, ensures a deeply connected and comfortable Monteverde experience.
A terrace, a garden path and a view into the cloud forest: Senda Monteverde Hotel gives you several ways to enjoy Monteverde without leaving the grounds. Contemporary rooms and suites soften into the landscape, with living or sitting spaces and private outdoor areas that invite you to put down the day's plans for a while.
The accommodation pairs contemporary elegance with rustic touches rather than shutting out the forest. Comfortable beds and generous living areas give you room to relax, while balconies or terraces bring the outlook into the quieter parts of the day. It is worth enjoying those spaces before breakfast or after an outing, when you are ready to leave the next plan for later.
The trails and tropical gardens make a gentle counterpart to the region's more energetic outings. Leave time to watch for highland birds or settle into an outdoor sitting area. The swimming pool and jacuzzis offer another way to unwind when those facilities are open.
At the restaurant, local and international flavors come together around locally sourced ingredients. Large windows bring the cloud-forest panorama to the table, and an extensive wine selection encourages a leisurely meal after time on the trails.
Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve offers trails and opportunities to look for wildlife, while nearby guided nature walks, birdwatching tours and canopy adventures give the region several kinds of day. You can explore with a guide or choose a more energetic outing, then return with time for the restaurant, the gardens or your own terrace. The comforts of the hotel continue the experience of Monteverde rather than interrupt it.
Senda's design blends with the surrounding landscape, and its environmental approach extends to renewable energy, water conservation and local ecological restoration initiatives. Staff can work with your preferences and special requests as you plan the stay. Together, those practical touches support a holiday that can move between the reserves and the comforts of the hotel without losing its connection to Monteverde.

A truly unique an eco-friendly luxury hotel. Right up my alley. A cabin in the woods feel. This was by far beyond what I could have imagined. Loved that the Aguti forest was right next door to do a night tour and the place was quiet which we loved with not many people. Tatiana at front desk was awesome!

Tatiana, one of the receptionists, helped me with my Spanish. I'm grateful for that.

Absolutely the best part of the trip was Monteverde

Fabulous grounds, beautiful room, lots of birds and agoutis. The food was excellent, but the dining room was tiny and quite loud. As at Sugar Beach the staff couldn’t have been nicer. For our 6 am hike with Esteban the kitchen had prepared delicious picnic meals for us, and though breakfast didn’t start until 7, they happily made us very good coffee prior to the hike.

Staff members were outstandingly friendly and helpful. Room was delightful and bed was comfortable. Meals were the best we had during our trip.

Everyone and everything about this place exceeded our expectations. It was fabulous. The food was excellent and the service was amazing. We loved our accommodations. Screens on the windows in the main room of the bungalow would help prevent bugs from entering.

The Senda was awesome, property & staff. Office, restaurant and bar staff were so friendly, we even got a visit from the Chef both nights at dinner. We were surprised with a bottle of bubbly and sweet treats to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, so nice and unexpected of them.

Loved the hotel and our room. The staff were so welcoming and helpful.

No TV. No fan in the bathroom, but we could open the bathroom window. Slight noise from adjoining casita/lodge room. Staff had difficulty making change for colones or dollars. Nice resort location, with birds and coatis plentiful. Excellent food, but slow service and limited menus. Some dining options in St. Elena and Monteverdi.

Excellent service, food options were wonderful!

Amazing staff in all areas. The only thing that would improve this location is safes in the rooms and a light on the stairs going into the rooms. I was happy I carried a flashlight, the stairs could have been an issue without it.
Amazing hotel. The food was phenomenal!! Staff amazing but we had workers right at our building all day early and late and close to the windows. I had to ask them to leave because it was bothering ournprivacy And they had been there all day already. Loved the hotel. We saw a pack of coatis!

Beautiful place, excellent rooms, and the staff was outstanding

The staff here were awesome. They let us borrow their guidebooks for sale and even made a trip to town for us to get stamps and antacids.
