The Mariposa was cute and adequate, and our room was clean with a nice covered porch. The grounds were lush and lots of flowers and hummingbirds but very limited for exploring. Breakfast was across the street at a resort, which was very good with beautiful views, but a bit awkward logistically. The staff was friendly.

Wonderful place to stay, great value for money. You can walk to three reserves (Monteverde, Curi Cancha, and El Bosque de Los Ninos) from this hotel, although some are a long walk. Be aware that the included breakfast is at the larger hotel across the street, so don’t expect a home cooked breakfast. Also limited eating options nearby.

Loved this hotel! Only issue was how cold it got at night and there were no heaters. But everything else about this place was lovely.

Esteban was very helpful and answered all of my questions quickly. The location was good for walking to the MV Cheese Factory as well as Stella's (1300 meters total from the B&B) for ice cream, coffee and treats. We also walked to the Cloud Forest Reserve from Mariposa. Breakfast was amazing!!

Estaban was one of the kindest humans I have ever met! He was very knowledgeable about the area! Beautiful location right near Monteverde Reserve, a little far from town but a quick bus/cab ride away!

Mariposa Bed and Breakfast was a great experience. Our room had a beautiful view of the forest and we were able to view some birds in the early morning. Breakfast every day was prepared quickly and it was delicious. The room was really cold at night (out of their control) but they provided us with extra blankets which helped.

Mariposa Bed and Breakfast is to far out away from town to be able to walk and there is nothing to do at the hotel. The grounds are very small so there is not much to do or look at there. The room was nice and the staff was nice. Once you went into town and walked around and saw every store there was not much else to look at there . My wife and I could not wait to leave there and get to Tamarando to lay on the beach where it was warm.
