This lodge had character and our room was set up nicely. Breakfast was very good. Nice location and could walk to many places. The bed mattress was not comfortable--old springs style? Really nice areas outside to sit and enjoy bird watching. Our room was tired, but the hotel grounds were gorgeous and beautifully maintained.

Hotel room is quite small and with the weather, the door banged most of the night until we put a piece of cardboard in it to stop the noise.

It is very easy to hear your neighbors and other hotel guests, so we could hear the kids screaming next door and somebody who was sick all night. However, the area is beautiful, convenient, and the room was great.

For what you are paying it’s reasonable. The door to the room had cracks all around it so our room was constantly filled with bugs. It was also much smaller than anticipated and did not have a fridge. A good budget option but I would have payed a bit more money for more luxury. The restaurant is very reasonably priced though and staff were excellent.

My room door to the outside had gaps in it and was very flimsy. I could hear everything happening outside and next door where people were pretty loud. Because of all that, it didn't feel secure and there was a lack of privacy. On the good side, breakfast was great and the grounds around the hotel are beautiful.

the hotel grounds were very beautiful, but the room standard was much lower than what we are used to. However, the breakfast quality was very good and the hotel had an excellent central location, close to many restaurants and attractions. It was the best located hotel during our trip. While we were a bit disappointed by the room, we barely spent any time indoors and we only spent three nights in Monteverde, so I don't think it would have been worth it getting a better and more expensive accommodation.
