Paris Confort Bed and Breakfast offers those visiting Monteverde modern accommodations, complete with kitchenettes, located on private property near the town of Santa Elena. The owners are originally from Belgium and have 3 dogs. Six spacious units, both multi-tiered and stand-alone, can easily meet the needs of couples, families, and birdwatchers looking for a an economical lodging. Daily breakfast is included in your stay.

The mountainous region of Monteverde is best accessed from the small village of Santa Elena, home to four major Nature reserves and numerous surrounding adventure activities. The typically cool elevated cloud forest, created by the convergence of Atlantic and Pacific winds, offers a unique endemic habitat to explore. Huge trees shrouded in mist invite you to discover the giant ferns, air plants, and animal life found from the forest floor all the way up through the tree canopy.

Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve, the Children’s Eternal Rain forest, Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve, and Curi Cancha can all be accessed alone or with professional guides (recommended) using spotting scopes that ensure you will see the best the day has to offer. Canopy ziplining, hanging bridges, sky trams with bungee jumping, water rappelling, horseback, ATV, and mountain bike riding are just some of the many exciting activities available. Nature tours include visiting a butterfly garden, orchid house, frog pond, and going on guided Night Tours. Cultural events like visiting a chocolate and coffee producing farm are also fun ways to get to know the friendly people living in the area.

There are many good restaurants in town for lunch and dinner. Santa Elena is approximately 5 minutes away by car or about a 20-minute hike into town. At night its best to take a taxi back as the streets are not lit and the terrain can be difficult. There are also interesting museums, co-ops, and art galleries to visit in town.

Back at Paris Confort B&B, you can relax after your exciting day and enjoy the comfortable furniture in your immaculately clean spacious room surrounded by amazing Nature murals. All rooms have kitchenettes and private bathrooms with electric hot water on demand. If you aren’t familiar with this system, you need to find the water temperature you like before you enter the shower. Then don’t make any adjustments while you shower. In this way, the water should remain warm throughout your bath. When the weather is particularly cold, you might want to ask for additional blankets as there is no heat in the rooms.

Each kitchenette contains an electric hotplate, microwave, toaster, blender, small refrigerator, sink, and cookware. The owners will prepare and deliver the night before everything needed for tomorrow’s breakfast so that you can make your breakfast at whatever time, early or late, you prefer. Great for early-to-rise birdwatchers. All rooms have access to wifi but the signal varies depending on the location of each room. Secure parking is on the premises.
