Rancho Makena

Offering simple, rustic cabins, Rancho Makena stays faithful to the concept of a mountain lodge. The small hotel is surrounded by forest within a few minutes drive to the town of Santa Elena, Costa Rica. Hotel amenities include Internet access, a cafeteria-style restaurant exclusive for guest use, tropical gardens, and nature trails.

Monteverde is a beautiful place for ecotourists to discover and explore. The Cloud Forest Reserve provides world-class birdwatching and an enchanting cloud forest experience. Travelers come from all over the world to take in its beauty and of course, to observe the famous Resplendent Quetzals that nest here. Rancho Makena offers a quiet and peaceful ambiance. The satellite TV in the lodge's restaurant is available, but you just may find diving into a good book with the birds chirping in the background to be a welcome change of pace.

Reforested wood was used in the construction of the lodge. The cabins are split between two floors with separate entrances. Each has two large rooms including a small living room.
