Snorkeling - Aqua Center

This is an opportunity to go snorkeling at Playa Flamingo, or Flamingo Beach, between Playa Portrero and Playa Brasilito on Costa Rica’s Gold Coast. It is a public beach with light brown to white smooth sand. Playa Flamingo is one of the longer beaches with shallows to wade in and trees a bit back from the surf that offer shade in the warm afternoons.

Mountains meet underwater offshore, offering rock formations that create a perfect setting for snorkeling and diving. Tourists enjoy the beauty of the beach as well as tropical marine life including: leopard whip rays, eels, and a variety of colorful fish species just off the coastline. This guided tour can be taken from the beach, or by small boat and is a great way to spend a relaxing day swimming in warm waters teeming with life.

Your tour begins with transportation from your hotel to Playa Flamingo. You will have a certified, bilingual guide who will escort you while Flamingo Beach snorkeling. Your guide can assist with identifying the marine life and how to interact with them. You will be provided with fins, snorkeling mask and a breathing tube. This is the perfect location to snorkel for the first time. Your guide will help you with instructions on how to place the mask securely to your face and how to breathe through the tube. If you would like a more in depth experience, you might like to try one of the scuba diving tours, which are also available.

This tour includes a bilingual guide, all snorkeling equipment as well as transportation from the Flamingo and Tamarindo areas and Hotel Riu. The one way trip from your hotel in Flamingo will take about 15 minutes, and up to an hour from the other listed areas. The entire experience will last up to 4 hours depending on where you are staying. Please bring sun screen, your bathing suit, and a dry change of clothing.
