Heredia Tours
Referred to as the City of Flowers, Heredia’s colorful city landscape surrounds the downtown plaza, where people come to sit under the mango trees and listen to outdoor concerts. Much smaller than San Jose and only 6 miles north, it features numerous historical buildings and 18th-century colonial architecture plus plenty of adventure tours beyond the city limits. Here you will find coffee plantation tours, walking garden tours amid beautiful waterfalls, or tours to outlying artisanal towns. Its central location provides access to several volcanoes along the central corridor, including the active Poas Volcano. Protected national and private parks offer hiking, birdwatching, ziplining and hot springs tours among others, where you can experience the magic of exploring wildlife in tropical rain and cloud forests. Imagine seeing the rare Resplendent Quetzal or finding a family of monkeys looking at you!
