Costa Rica recently ranked as the happiest place in the world according to a private research group out based in Britain. The group was charged with creating a new economy based on environment and people. To those that know Costa Rica, this comes as little surprise.
The report, which was released in 2009 ranked nations by using a formula for the “Happy Family Index”. The index is based on finding countries with populations of the most content people. The index also ranks countries on environmental policies and impact as well as life expectancy of the general population.
Costa Ricans accounted for the second highest life expectancy of the new world and the highest life satisfaction rate in the world.
