Arenal Springs Resort and Spa, a four-star eco-luxury retreat in Arenal, offers a serene escape with private thermal pools and captivating volcano views. Guests enjoy bungalow-style accommodations, diverse dining options, and complimentary morning yoga amidst lush tropical gardens. The resort provides a tranquil base for exploring the region's adventures, ensuring a relaxing return to warm waters and attentive service. It promises a memorable stay.
Hot-springs afternoons beneath Arenal
Come back from a day around La Fortuna and follow the garden paths toward the hot springs. Arenal Springs Resort and Spa brings private thermal pools, tropical greenery and views of the volcano into the rhythm of a stay. This four-star resort’s bungalow-style accommodation gives you outdoor space to pause, while the water and dining venues make an afternoon on site worth keeping free.
Warm water, cool water and garden paths
At the front of the property, thermal streams and pools lie among palms, ferns and flowering plants. A separate cool-water swimming pool and a children’s pool create different ways to enjoy the water, with lounge chairs and a sun deck for the hours afterward. A Jacuzzi and spa continue that slower side of an Arenal vacation, and the swim-up Sakana Sushi Bar and Restaurant brings dining into pool time.
A cold-water stream winds toward tilapia ponds, crossed by small bridges along the paths. Follow them to the open-air yoga deck, where complimentary morning classes take place several days a week. Guests have recorded 138 bird species in the gardens, giving birdwatchers another reason to explore attentively. WiFi is available in select public areas; a souvenir shop and conference room add other useful facilities.
An evening with choices
Ti-Cain serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with Costa Rican and international dishes, fresh Costa Rican coffee in the morning and a wine selection in the evening. Italian Corner adds brick-oven pizza, pasta, cold-cut platters and fresh salads with Chilean and Argentinian wines. At the wet bar, Sakana Sushi Bar and Restaurant serves sushi, Japanese salads and pasta dishes. Choose the meal that suits the evening, then take time to enjoy it.
Beyond the resort, the Arenal Volcano region offers rafting, canyoning and canopy ziplines, including Sky Trek and Tram. Horseback rides to waterfalls and ATV outings bring a faster pace, while Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge, hanging bridges and jungle hikes at the volcano’s base suit landscape and wildlife interests. Give the days different speeds, knowing the gardens and warm water await your return.

Appreciated the upgrade and anniversary treats! With so much rain, the umbrella and covered deck came in handy. Loved that we could see monkeys in the trees on the neighboring property thru our expansive bathroom windows -- and the clouds cleared for a full volcano view too! Beautiful property.

The staff and arrangements made ahead of time by PTW were above and beyond!!! Everyone in our group loved this resort!

This hotel is excellent. Our room was amazing, our view was amazing, the food and pools were amazing! We would have liked to be closer to La Fortuna to make trips to town more convenient.

All wonderful. Hot springs here was sufficient for us. Breakfast amazing. Wish they had a shuttle or included back and forth to Fortuna for those without rental cars. No bugs in the room! Loved watching many hummingbirds here in the flowering bushes.

They exceeded our expectations in every way !

Beautiful resort! Stunning grounds and views! They were so kind at check in. They had a snack and welcome drink waiting for us since we arrived late at night. They were so helpful with the golf carts and luggage. We loved the different pools and food too. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again!

Their breakfast buffet, service, and pool areas were worth the small room!

This was a beautiful resort. Room proximity to the hot springs and pools was ideal. Everything was immaculate. The view of the volcano was amazing. Too far from town - needed a taxi each time. Restaurants on property were ridiculously expensive. We opted to go into town for dinner each night after spending close to $300 in one night on food/drinks at the resort (food was great but that was a bit too expensive). We loved La Fortuna and enjoyed exploring different restaurants there. I would have preferred staying closer to La Fortuna and being able to walk places (but we did have a very nice time regardless).

This hotel was absolutely gorgeous. The view of the volcano was magnificent and the rooms were clean and spacious. We all enjoyed the food in the morning and for dinner. Breakfast being included was very helpful and the options were plentiful. We still talk about how good the breakfasts were!

Very nice overall, beautiful location.

Expensive to eat here, next time I would stay here but rent a car and eat in town. Food was good but pricey. Wasn’t expecting that.

The only reason the staff got an 8 is because we found many of them to be insincere and inauthentic. They immediately spoke English to us when we arrived and seemed to speak to us in a patronizing tone. Most of the wait staff, however, was very kind and we enjoyed speaking with them. The hotel was amazing overall with beautiful views of the volcano as well as beautiful grounds with plants and vegetation. The hot springs were fabulous and they were not usually crowded so we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. My son got a massage and the women were wonderful in the spa. It was a little farther from town, but close enough to take a taxi or Uber there for dinner. We decided to leave for our dinners because we found the restaurants to be limiting. Although they have many options, the costs were high and we didn’t find a menu offering typical of the country. We went to town to find more authentic Costa Rican food.

Staff was exceptional. We ate every meal at the restaurant with Costa Rican cuisine, which was also exceptional.
Angela S.
Overall fantastic. From the welcome cocktail to the entire layout of the resort. Food was subpar but we had a lovely time. Breakfast was our favorite meal.
