Arenal

Good to Know

Arenal Springs Resort and Spa, a four-star eco-luxury retreat in Arenal, offers a serene escape with private thermal pools and captivating volcano views. Guests enjoy bungalow-style accommodations, diverse dining options, and complimentary morning yoga amidst lush tropical gardens. The resort provides a tranquil base for exploring the region's adventures, ensuring a relaxing return to warm waters and attentive service. It promises a memorable stay.

Hot-springs afternoons beneath Arenal

Come back from a day around La Fortuna and follow the garden paths toward the hot springs. Arenal Springs Resort and Spa brings private thermal pools, tropical greenery and views of the volcano into the rhythm of a stay. This four-star resort’s bungalow-style accommodation gives you outdoor space to pause, while the water and dining venues make an afternoon on site worth keeping free.

Warm water, cool water and garden paths

At the front of the property, thermal streams and pools lie among palms, ferns and flowering plants. A separate cool-water swimming pool and a children’s pool create different ways to enjoy the water, with lounge chairs and a sun deck for the hours afterward. A Jacuzzi and spa continue that slower side of an Arenal vacation, and the swim-up Sakana Sushi Bar and Restaurant brings dining into pool time.

A cold-water stream winds toward tilapia ponds, crossed by small bridges along the paths. Follow them to the open-air yoga deck, where complimentary morning classes take place several days a week. Guests have recorded 138 bird species in the gardens, giving birdwatchers another reason to explore attentively. WiFi is available in select public areas; a souvenir shop and conference room add other useful facilities.

An evening with choices

Ti-Cain serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with Costa Rican and international dishes, fresh Costa Rican coffee in the morning and a wine selection in the evening. Italian Corner adds brick-oven pizza, pasta, cold-cut platters and fresh salads with Chilean and Argentinian wines. At the wet bar, Sakana Sushi Bar and Restaurant serves sushi, Japanese salads and pasta dishes. Choose the meal that suits the evening, then take time to enjoy it.

Beyond the resort, the Arenal Volcano region offers rafting, canyoning and canopy ziplines, including Sky Trek and Tram. Horseback rides to waterfalls and ATV outings bring a faster pace, while Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge, hanging bridges and jungle hikes at the volcano’s base suit landscape and wildlife interests. Give the days different speeds, knowing the gardens and warm water await your return.

Choose the suite around your stay

The Junior Suites feature one king-size bed or two queen beds, air-conditioning, a flat-screen cable TV, a ceiling fan, a coffee maker, a mini-bar, a telephone, an in-room safe, and a hairdryer. The mini-bar is stocked with complimentary beverages for two people (once per visit). Each Junior Suite boasts a spacious terrace with a seating area and enchanting views of Arenal Volcano. When an additional single bed is required, it is provided as a roll-away bed.

The luxurious Master Suites are equipped with air conditioning, a Jacuzzi filled with natural hot springs water, an indoor shower, two TVs, an all-inclusive mini-bar in one of the rooms, a terrace with a volcano view, hammocks, two bathrooms, room phones, bath phones, alarm clocks, sofa beds, closets, safety boxes, hot water, fans, coffee makers, and hairdryers.

The resort also offers rooms with handicap access and adjoining rooms for families who wish to stay together. Please request these rooms at the time of reservation, and the resort will make every effort to accommodate your request.

  • Ti-Cain, Italian Corner and Sakana give you Costa Rican, international, Italian and Japanese dining choices, including brick-oven pizza and sushi.
  • Breakfast is included. Lunch and dinner are not included unless specified in the room description; included meals use a special menu that may exclude regular-menu dishes.
  • Pacific Trade Winds clients receive a 15% discount at Arenal Springs Spa, adding a specific benefit to a treatment during your stay.
  • Junior Suite minibar beverages are complimentary for two people once per visit; Master Suites add a hot-springs-water Jacuzzi, two bathrooms and an all-inclusive minibar in one room. An extra single bed is a rollaway, and Master Suite hammocks bring more outdoor time to the volcano-view terrace.
  • Accessible and adjoining rooms must be requested when reserving; the resort will make every effort to accommodate the request, rather than guaranteeing it.
  • WiFi is available in select public areas; a souvenir shop and conference room add practical facilities, while birdwatching and the spa offer gentler hours on site.
  • A notice covers select-suite upgrades and Secreto’s temporary closure from August 20 to November 20, with Secreto menu items at Ti Cáin; confirm the arrangements for your dates.
  • Rafting, canyoning, Sky Trek and Tram, horseback rides to waterfalls, ATV outings, Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge and hanging bridges give the regional days different speeds before a return to the hot springs.

Susan C.

So friendly! The rooms were wonderfully appointed. Food was outstanding!

Drue F.

Lovely resort. Despite high season, never felt crowded. Food was just okay. Disappointed in low quality bathroom products especially the shampoo and conditioner. This is a $500 per night hotel!

Dugald H.

We had a wonderful stay. It was more expensive than the places I usually stay, but provided an excellent experience for the family.

Carol M.

This hotel was amazing. Great location and we loved the hot springs. So nice we didn’t want to leave.

Rena W.

The restaurants were a little overpriced. The view of the volcano being ever present was very special. The warm springs were a real treat!

Janet W.

We arrived in the dark, VERY cool opening our door to view the volcano!!! Food and drinks pricey, but we knew that going in. We bought liquor at duty free and a grocery store during one of our tours. Saved us a lot of money making our own drinks. Still enjoyed the swim up bars. Great outdoor gym. Enjoyed the hot tubs with various temperatures. No issue finding lounge chairs around pool.

Kent J.

Disappointed in the temperature of the pools - the “hot” pool was not hot.

Joane R.

Loved this place. The Springs were just great. The staff everywhere was very helpful and nice.

Mukund A.

the restaurants on the property were quite inflexible when it came to making an effort to prepare dishes for vegetarians. It was a take it or leave it attitude, whatever is on the menu is what we serve. Everything else was excellent here

Michael B.

Location was excellent. The surprise presentation in our room of a bottle of wine with decoration per our anniversary was much appreciated. The only concern was the hotel's main dinner menu was over priced and disappointing. Pool bar amenities were over priced. The Italian style restaurant was limited and sub standard. The breakfast buffet was good.

Heather M.

Room was quite small, no kids menu at resort restaurants.

Ghazala S.

Loved the location. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Rob O.

Little touristy. Restaurant food quality was lower than expected. Some restaurant staff were not friendly or helpful. Cleaning staff was excellent.

Karen O.

The staff was not as friendly as we had at other places. The food was underwhelming. The room was very nice and the pools and swim up bar were excellent.

Pamela R.

Hotel was very nice. Most staff were very friendly. Pillow were too firm. It was expensive-especially meals and drinks.

Lisa E.

Fantastic resort. Staff was amazing - extremely helpful. The hot springs on site were amazing. Onsite food was also very good. Nice, quiet room arrangements. Would definitely go back.

Shirin F.

This is a lovely hotel with very nice vibe and very nice family feel. Employees in restaurants are very polite. Food is good, especially the breakfast is excellent. There was two issues - mice/animals running above ceiling sometimes, and in one of the bathrooms the sink was clogged creating a smell. However overall really enjoyed and recommend this hotel.

Florence W.

Excellent staff but a bit disappointed with the room (inexisting sound proofing, we could follow the neighbours conversation ) and felt trapped in the property (mainly hot bath, with a méningite warningl. Ti Cain restaurant: exceptional!

Nicole S.

The prices at the on-site restuarants was a little pricey. We were very surprised and disappointed on how expensive the drinks were at the pool bar. $40 for a single vodka soda and jack and coke was ridiculous and took us by surprise when we got our bill. We expected them to be a little more due to the environment we were in but thought that price was ridiculous. The drinks in Las Vegas are cheaper than that. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating. We appreciated the happy anniversary banner on the door as well as the gift of a bottle of wine, a couple beers and sweets.

Ashwani G.

Exceptional welcome, generous and beautiful place to be in. I only wish that food inside resort was more reasonably priced. Despite the food prices, I will recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat

Donna B.

LOVED IT. Should have added 2 extra days at this resort to total 5 nights. There were many additional activities we wanted to do.
