A really lovely hotel . Glad we had booked activities in advance as were rather expensive if booked in the hotel . Yoga was really good and well worth getting up for. The pools were lovely and enjoyed the sushi.

Beautiful resort, the food and beverages were kind of expensive.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room had a wonderful view of the volcano. They staff was respectful and attentive.

We were only here for a short stay, but we enjoyed the room, the property and the staff.

Loved this hotel. The hot springs were nice to sit in at the end of the day and have a drink at the pool bar. The staff were nice. The breakfast was great. We never got to eat in the restaurants other than breakfast. One was too expensive for our group of 7 and the other was always booked. We did most of our eating at the pool bar. The location is close to town.

Hotel muy lindo, vamos a regresar pronto

Beautiful resort! Staff was great.

We really enjoyed it hear but we felt the food and laundry services were over priced

This place is a paradise and the staff extremely helpful and accommodating. Guest services Romario, tour desk Eduardo, yoga instructor Grizelda, restaurant hostess Sharon and grounds worker Fernando all made our stay exceptional

I have been very impressed by that hotel. I want to go back!!!!!!

Great accommodations. Pool and hot springs super.

Excellent resort, exactlt how it was explained.

Fantastic place. Really excellent, friendly staff and we would visit this hotel again.

I would stay here again. The only suggestion is the A/C needs updating. I understand the need to conserve energy but it took quite a while for the room to cool off. The staff is amazing and the breakfast delicious.

This resort is amazing! Will go here again in the next couple years and will recommend to anyone traveling to Arenal. The staff was super friendly and were very respectful

This hotel was beautiful. There was a nice selection of restaurants on site. We all loved it here.

Great view, but the food was pricey and average.

This was a beautiful place to stay. The only bad part was having to pay for a shuttle to and from town.

Beautiful resort. Staff very helpful with any questions or requests.

The only problem was that it was very easy to hear people talking in the room next-door. It was like the people were in the same room!

Pools were lovely. Great breakfast buffet. Has both a high end restaurant and a more casual pizza place which was a great option as well. Bathroom amenities could have been a bit better for the price.

The hot springs were unbelievable

The property was pretty, the staff was great, however the noise that you could hear between the rooms was LOUD.

Service at the restaurants was slow, but friendly

everything was great very friendly

so nice to be met with a smile and drink that late at night.

Loved the view, used the pool and springs quite a bit. Room was a little small but perfectly manageable. Food on site was pricey but good, and staff was very helpful with delivery options and in finding a place to eat out in LaFortuna. Overall a great experience.

This hotel and grounds were the prettiest place we've been. They pay attention to detail of everything. The streets, lawns, foliage, just everything immaculate. Highly recommend it.

Beautiful accommodations - the hot springs felt great, good food, very nice experience.

Our room was on the top floor of one of only 2 two story buildings on the property, at the very back of the property. An absolutely incredible, unobstructed view of the volcano. Loved this resort.

Very beautiful. We would have liked to do more yoga but only one class at 7:30 daily & 2 days we had to leave resort early. Yoga should be offered at another time also.

Enjoyed our stay!

Restaurants were over-priced.

Spectacular view of Arenal from all rooms, facilities top rate, attention to the smallest details; it was the highlight of our trip.

Amazing views and location. The accommodations were gorgeous. The beds were hard, but we slept great. The staff was great and the grounds were gorgeous. The restaurant is pricey, but then we were way out.

The restaurants were oddly expensive - some stuff was priced as we might have expected, other items were much expensive than we expected. Plus, we did not expect a $12 cab ride each way to get into tiwn, making the option of going into town to eat also expensive.

The resort was really great. Breakfasts were first rated. We did not eat in dinner in the restaurant as it was ridiculously expensive. Pools were lots of fun. Loved the early morning yoga classes.

This was the nicest hotel we stayed in, and the pools were a big hit

The resort and staff were nice. Our first night we were told the items in the refrigerator are complimentary. However, when we asked for more we were told we would need to pay.

Quality facility. Particularly impressed by caring staff, particularly Roma, who ensured Bonnie's sickness was as comfortable as possible, including regular phone calls to check up on her comfort.

Staff at this hotel were tremendous always making sure had everything we need.

We had a very comfortable stay. We enjoyed the towel art of housekeeping and the front dest staff was delightful and made good dinner recommendations. The gift shop had a great choice of local artisans work.

This was an amazing hotel and experience from the moment we got there. The staff was amazing, and truly created the Pura Vida experience.

Looking forward to coming back again.

Loved the resort, we spent a lot of time in the hot springs and they were heavenly!!

Wonderful!!! Couldn't have been happier!!

Loved this hotel

The room was a little awkward to share with three people. There was no desk or chair so it felt a little cramped. The facility was very nice and the hot springs were great. Food was expensive.

food was okay at best, overpriced for the quality, a little difficult to get into La Fortuna to try local restaurants. Beautiful pools and spa!!!

This was our second stay at this hotel - the room was very comfortable, the view of the volcano, and grounds superb. The staff was very welcoming, and helpful. The hot springs right on the grounds were relaxing. The breakfast buffet is the best of any place we have stayed in our two trips to Costa Rica.

Food at main restaurant for dinner was not as good this year

Fantastic staff and support.

We enjoyed the hot spring pools and our the view from our accommodation. The housekeeping staff always surprised us with a new "towel animal" each day. There was a welcome bottle of wine and wind classes on our first day. Most staff were friendly and helpful and took pride in their jobs. However, the front desk help and one of the waiters were not welcoming . Guests should be made aware that it is a twelve dollar taxi ride each way if they want to eat at a restaurant in town. We thought there might have been a hotel shuttle for a nominal charge per person. The hot water in our bathroom was sporadic. I am not sure whether it was a solar tank system. The breakfast buffet was excellent.

The best place I've ever stayed!

Wonderful place for couples or families. Morning yoga was fantastic. Great location.

Food is overpriced

Lovely establishment very helpful staff good food and the towels folded into animals were amazing

this was the best part of the trip

By far one of the nicer hotels in Arenal. We saw a few others and were not impressed but this place is just beautiful, quiet, clean and the hot spring quite nice.

Excellent fron desk staff. Went out of their way to help and advise. Beautiful place.

A pretty big letdown after Los Altos. The plastic wristband thing is so tacky and a quick turnoff when we arrived. Staff was friendly enough. The value question is due to the restaurant - way overpriced for the quality. Expect resort food to be expensive...but it needs to be good.
You could easily hear conversations of the neighboring room - thank goodness it was my kids.
The place was such a contrast to Los Altos.

The food was a little overpriced

top notch hotel & resort food very good too

Food not that good. Buffet breakfast choices not as high quality at Parador. Dinner buffet on Dec. 24 was just okay

Nice hotel.

Loved the hot springs

Very nice resort and excellent customer-friendly staff. Always smiling and asking how they could help. Would have been even better if their bird feeding stations had been open.

"Hot spring water" was not exactly what it seemed. Otherwise, great hotel.

The place is beautiful however we had some concerns:
ants in the room
no chair to sit in in the room. we brought the patio furniture inside.
service in Italian restaurant was terrible. We order drinks and salads for before the meal. All was served together.
Buffet breakfast was very nice!
The pool side bar closed early and we had planned our evening to enjoy it, and is really the only thing to do after dinner ( or work out room)
There should be an evening yoga class. there is nothing to do at the hotel after dinner time. We considered the place nice but boring., and somewhat over priced. the welcome drink was a nice touch.

Nice resort with a beautiful view but not worth the price tag.

Hotel was great and clean! Really wish some of the restaurants/pool bar stayed open later.

I thoroughly enjoyed this hotel, would recommend it to friends and would absolutely stay here again!

We even saw the volcano!

It was a lovely hotel but the property was a bit too large for my taste, I prefer smaller hotels

Unfortunately the Italian restaurant was closed. The other one was good but pricey.

Was very disappointed with the breakfast Fruit was not ripe . Had to ask for coffee each am silverware Should have been more food selection for breakfast Staff did not understand common words like coffee water

Very pleased

Beautiful view!

This hotel was so much fun! I loved the volcano view too. I'm very happy with our choice.

Great hotel. Bit far from town, no free shuttle, food was great but very expensive. They needed quick cheaper food menu. The hot springs are amazing and so r the views..

This place was amazing. So clean and beautiful. The staff was so nice. The only negative thing I would say about this place was that the food was mediocre and expensive. However, the breakfast spread was great and it was easy to get into town for lunch or dinner.

Great location and views of volcano. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet but the restaurants were a bit pricey that's what you would expect at a resort. The staff were always friendly and helpful.

The rooms were small.

Great Hotel very scenic and wonderful gardens/flowers, food can be some issues

We plan to go there again.

The only negative that we could the mattress was really firm...I mean, REALLY firm.

There are no nearby restaurants. The isolated location was a 10Dollar cab ride from restaurants and town. The accommodations were very good. The food at the hotel was expensive and only OK.

Beautiful hotel, staff very efficient and accommodating ,surrounding area and room very clean . Definitely would recommend and stay there again.

Amazing hotel, beautiful setting, CLEAN, friendly and outgoing staff - nothing is ever a bother staff are fantastic!! Only slight negative would be price - Mixed drinks $8 each is pricey, sushi also extremely expensive and unless you order from the bar menu, dinner at the hotel is also quite expensive. It is worth it though, what a great place.

This was the best place we stayed with an excellent staff. Once again, we asked to be changed from a room with no view and they gave us one with a direct view of Arenal. The spas and pools and ground were fantastic,

Beautiful resort. Wished we had been able to spend more time there.

This place is absolutely lovely. Total paradise. I wish their spa prices had been a bit more reasonable - or you had a package option that made them competitive, but it was a bit outlandish for how wonderful everything else was for the price. All in all, such a great stay!

This hotel was AMAZING! Loved everything about it. The room was great and the staff were so friendly. Want to stay there again.

Very Nice Place and loved seeing all the wildlife and exotic plants. Beautiful place

Loved this place! Wish we could have stayed longer. Everyone was super friendly and the hotel was beautiful!

We loved staying here! Friendly and helpful staff. We always looked forward to the hot springs at the end of our day and the buffet in the morning was super!

Lovely property, lots of amenities, great food and beautiful views. Can't beat it for the price.

Excellent accomodations, excellent food, excellent staff

Excellent, beautiful resort. Breakfast had a large variety and staff very friendly and willing to help.

The resort was very nice and exceptionally helpful in meeting our needs. The buffets and dinner were very nice too.

Very nice, friendly, and helpful people. Great atmosphere, food, location. Overall absolutely nothing negative to say. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, and good food made a great start to our trip.

The hotel staff were very pleasant and accommodating of all our requests. The room was clean and comfortable. The gardens and grounds were exquisite, and the food was delicious and plentiful. The hot pools were delightful.

I loved the resort and would definitely recommend it and would stay there again. I rated the comfort a 7 because the bed was super FIRM and it wasn't very comfortable.

Everyone was kind, courteous and professional. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable

Bed was a little too firm for us. Otherwise...........Excellent.

Arenal Springs is a great hotel with an amazing view. The casita style of the rooms make for a quiet experience and each room faces the volcano so there were lots of opportunities to "volcano watch". The staff was very friendly and attentive and our housekeeper gave a thorough cleaning of the room and left us cute towel animals. Food at the buffet for breakfast was abundant and the brick oven pizza was delicious. The grounds and pools were amazing - I could have stayed there all week.

Loved the hotel; the hot springs were wonderful. Staff was incredibly courteous. Quiet and peaceful environment.

Big tour groups a turn off. But otherwise a lovely stay.

Far beyond our expectations! Breakfasts were delicious. So nice to have golf carts available for my difficulty with walking. Lovely place to stay. The view of Arenal will be in my dreams for a great while to come!

The bartender at the pool bar was so wonderful and kind to my family. He made our evenings at the pool very fun. The hotel is beautiful and the views are amazing!!! Loved it! Wished there was airconditioning in the bathroom.

Most beautiful spot and loved that all the rooms were private but still had a clear view of the volcano. Restaurant for dinner was a little expensive.

food and beverage was way overpriced for the quality

We loved this hotel. I would like to go back and spend a week there. The food was great. The grounds were beautiful!!! Good Job to the gardeners!!! The view was breath taking!!The hot springs great!! To be able to eat in the hot springs at the swim up bar was wonderful.

Rooms were nice and clean. Beds were hard as rock, though. Staff was very welcoming. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Dinner menu was very strange. We were looking forward to traditional Costa Rican dishes, but the menu was a strange mix of what it seems they think Americans and Europeans eat at home (spaghetti with hot dogs?). Also super expensive for the quality. Facilities were great. It is a beautiful and unique property.

Arenal Springs Resort was AMAZING! It exceeded our expectations and we loved our stay there. The only drawback for us was the high cost of meals at the restaurants. We had not expected it to be such a high end resort so we were not prepared for that, and it ended up costing us a lot more than we had budgeted for. Going into town for meals was not a good option either as we were a group of 6 and that meant 2 taxis, which would end up costing us so much that it didn't warrant doing that, so we stayed at the resort for meals. It would be good to let people who book Arenal Springs Resort know ahead of time that it is an upscale resort and the food prices will reflect that, so they can be prepared for that. Other than that, it was absolutely perfect!

Beautiful location and facilities. The staff was nice and accommodating.

The beds at this hotel were hard as a board, which is our biggest complaint. We loved the grounds of the hotel, hot springs pool, and the overall room (minus the bed). A challenge we had was that we were "stuck" at the hotel without a car. So we could not explore without paying a lot for a taxi (something we would do differently if we visit Costa Rica again). The hotel staff were nice and helpful throughout our stay.

Staff was great at the front desk & allowed early check in + choice of rooms available. We were able to get a great room up front. We had activities planned during the day, so it was great to relax in the hot springs in the evenings. The grass is so soft, you don't even want to wear shoes. Maids appreciate tips, as we were greeted with towel animal shapes after the first clean-up. Duplex layouts and shrubbery give each room private porches facing the volcano scenery. Excellent full breakfasts.

Great resort. Rooms were nice and staff very friendly.

What a great place. The pools were fantastic. They set us up with a private place to celebrate my sisters 30th wedding anniversary

This was by far our favorite accommodation. The cottage was exquisite and the view of the volcano amazing. We would return to this resort in the future.

Loved this hotel. By far, one of the friendliest staffs. For whatever reason, our rooms weren't ready when we got there so we had to wait about 30 minutes, but other than that great. Great food and menu options.

Beds were very hard but got cushion top for bed right away. Hotel felt like a cruise ship-too many people.
Pool area was terrific.

Ask for the Master Suite. Unbelievably beautiful.

From the fantastic view of the volcano, to the very comfortable and clean room, the accommodations more than met our expectations. We enjoyed walking around the hotel grounds which was like a huge garden. The hot springs weren't as hot as we would have liked but we enjoyed them just the same. The majority of the staff was friendly and very helpful.

Again we were taken to a room that was not ready. We were going to be in an upper floor room with a nice view but it was currently occupied. Ended up in a room with 2 beds, it was ok. Manager offered to pay for our dinner that night, which was very nice of him, much appreciated.

I was frustrated by the dining options, and how far the resort was from anything else.

This was the second hotel that we stayed in CR and the staff was welcoming and friendly. The hot springs were so nice to swim in after the long hike down to La Fortuna waterfall.

I didn't have any expectations but I loved the plants and birds!

It is a very nice hotel and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only real issue is that it was a bit colder and more rainy than we were led to believe by PTW.

The hotel was beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful and the rooms clean. The food was not that good especially for their prices. I thought maybe that's what the food is like in Costa Rica until we went to the other hotel on the trip. No, this hotels food wasn't good.

There were times when we did not have hot water in the shower. We also had to call numerous times to get toilet paper.

We loved Arenal Springs - we were upgraded to an incredible room with an outdoor rain forest shower and the food was great. The concierge was not the friendliest, but everyone else was. We had dinner one night at Benedictus too - what a cool place that is!

Dinner at the restaurant on site was expensive, but other than that everything was perfect! We enjoyed our stay and everything was beautiful.

The Hot Springs were wonderful, with many pools to choose from. Our room had an excellent view of Arenal. We wish there had been screens on the windows, were not able to leave windows open at night because of bugs.

Beautiful hotel; enjoyed the hot springs and special touch of chamber maids

upgraded to a beautiful room, and the staff were great ! they helped our daughter who was going on to Grenada Nicaragua with transportation.

Lovely resort, grounds were beautiful. But we felt isolated from La Fortuna. Only access would be by taxi. Found the available restaurants fairly upscale for our needs offering very little in Costa Rican foods. Doing it again we would probably request a hotel closer into town.

The cost of food and drinks was extremely expensive. So much so that we preferred to eat inLa Fortuna

Wonderful, loved the animals, birds, and plants.

Very clean and very nice accommodating staff

We loved this hotel and the location, we would definitely come back. Resort was very clean, staff was very helpful and friendly. Food was good too, buffet style for breakfast; there was something for everyone. Fruit was fantastic! At night we would go to Italian place for dinner, great steak, pizza..service was exceptional at whole resort - reception, room service, at the restaurants..we were very happy there.

Poor lighting in the guest room

Awesome hotel. Landscape well maintained daily. Great room and awesome views of volcano. Totally enjoyed stay.

Good choice! Loved the thermal pools! They did a fantastic job treating George on his birthday on Jan. 18th! They created a bed sheet/towel design with a turtle and a small bottle of wine and 2 glasses! Then later when we returned from dinner out they surprised him with a volcano birthday cake that we all enjoyed on the deck in the evening! Very special! Lisa(?) at the desk was always so helpful and patient with me!

We have only good things to say about this resort. It was the best!! Great views, staff, room, food in the Italian restaurant.

No exercise facilities available.

Beautiful, relaxing experience! We want to go back and spend more time here.

Amazing hotel and hot springs. Wish they'd had a shuttle to La Fortuna though.

Nice hotel, lovely pool and springs. Excellent service from the service director who was aware of our kosher food needs.

A microwave would have been helpful. Loved that the resort is locally owned.

Everyone at the hotel was very pleasant and helpful.

Resort is fine. We had an initial problem with our 1st room but it was addressed. Staff is very helpful. Breakfast is great but the dining offered at the restaurant is very expensive.

The food was pretty pricey, but the Hotel was incredibly relaxing and gorgeous

Hotel was great, very nice. Staff was terrific. Hot springs were great. We were disappointed in the Sushi bar and the italian restrauant. We eat sushi every week and everywhere we travel. Sushi rolls were made with too much rice and very little fish; over priced for what you got. Italian was really a pizza parlor, limited other selections. Salad was good, very good pizza but I really was looking for an italian dinner.

This place was incredible! We loved our little bungalo and that starfruit drink they served us upon arrival was delicious!

The shower with the metal roof and stone wall behind it that let the rain seep in was really cool, with the live plants in it.

The breakfast was fantastic every single day, and the hotsprings were really nice and relaxing after some of the harder days of activities.

Spectacular setting. Very attentive staff. Delicious breakfast. I will be saying that about every place we stayed.

I liked the drink we received as we walked in to resister. The three restaurants were a nice variety. The staff was very accommodating. The view from the room was exceptional. The grounds were well maintained. We enjoyed the hot springs. The birds and the flowers were enjoyable, it was surprising to see that the grass was cut with weed wackers instead of lawn mowers

Excellent!! The breakfast served on the open patio is great. Hot springs and pools are refreshing. View of Arenal volcano is exceptional. Staff is courteous and welcoming.

Hotel was great and very friendly - we really enjoyed the hot springs and breakfast each morning!

This place was great!!! It was better than I could have ever imagined!

Outstanding. Great view of the volcano. Pool and hot spring were delightful.

I truly feel the only thing I could complain about were the pillows, they were very hard.

Very comfortable. I had a view of the volcano from my bed. Would have liked to have seen the lava flows.

Great views!!!

Diego at the poolside bar was fantastic. Food overpriced in the restaurant. Not a lot of food options. Pools and hot spring were very nice. Nice room, really nice shower and bathroom.

Accommodations' were excellent. I would recommend highly to anyone traveling to this area

Shoutout to Romario and his staff for offering outstanding customer service! Only complaint the beds are a bit hard and uncomfortable but everything else was great!

We loved the resort! The people were friendly and helpful and the resort is beautiful. The room was a little tight for four people, but we weren't in the room very much. Also, the concierge was very helpful. He recommended a terrific tour (I will send the tour info to Pacific Tradewinds)

This is an amazing place to stay and would definite go back. The staff and service was unbelievable!!

Grounds and pool were gorgeous, room were nice but restaurants were overpriced and the food except the pizza were only so so.

This was a beautiful place, very clean, eco friendly. The juice when we arrived was a nice touch. We enjoyed the pool and hot springs a lot! The laundry service was great & since we got it in early in the morning (they even picked it up at the room) it was back in our rooms when we got back from our tour. Lovely shower!

Nice room and grounds, great view, nice pool and hot springs, excellent breakfast.

Beds were a bit hard but the room was great. Food was pricy and it was a bit removed from town but quality was good.

The hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly and very accommodating.

A shuttle to la fortuna would have been a nice touch.... Arenal Springs feels isolated....

Absolutely stunning! Very friendly staff and beautiful scenery and surroundings.

It was amazing - we wish we could have stayed longer. Very relaxing and zen-like.

Beautiful Hotel. Love the breakfast buffet and all the amenities. Staff was great. Always willing to help.

The room stay much warmer then I would like despite my best efforts. I understand turning the power off when the guest is out of the room for cost reasons, but the room wasn't insulated well (proven by the fact you could easily hear the guests in the next room even though they were only talking at conversational type volume) and this meant the room would revert to basically the outdoor temps. The staff was helpful in being sure we had WIfi connectivity, but the wifi was very slow. Breakfast was tasty, but the tons and tons of flies around the food was very offputting. The swim up bar was great and the bartender was very courteous. The spa staff was wonderful too. I don't know if I would stay here again, but if would only be because the staff as so helpful. Overall the bungalows need some tweaking in comfort (A/C) and amenities (WiFi should be available in ALL with better bandwidth).

Great place, highly recommend it to friends, just rains all the time

Great facility, wonderful room and pool. The food was terrible and way overpriced! But everything else was amazing!

Great food, staff Eric. Note that WiFi is slow in the rooms if that matters to you.

I didn't like how the power turned off when you left your room. The room could be stuffy when you returned. I also thought the food was overpriced.

We would recommend this to anyone. The restaurant in the pool was our favorite. We talk about it all the time. The only recommendation we would have for this place would be to put an umbrella in each room. At times it was raining so hard we just didn't want to leave the room to get food. It is a decent walk to the facilities. We don't mind the walk, we were just sick of getting rained on. A nice big umbrella would have helped. I know they have them in the lobby, but that didn't quite help us when we were in our room. :)

There was not enough to do at this resort. We were very glad you had planned some adventure while we were staying here.

Loved this place!

The staff was amazing, they were always willing to assist. Very impressed with the grounds of the hotel and pool area with swim-up bar was a real nice feature. Room was very nice and bathroom was impressive. Only negative was that the bed mattress was hard - could have used a mattress topper. Mattress felt like a sheet over concrete. Breakfast buffet was great and we ate at both restaurants - seafood was their best offering. Hotel was a very nice selection, enjoyed the hotel with the exception of the mattresses.

We loved it here. The swim up sushi and pizza restaurant were delicious. The only thing that would have made it better is if they had a shuttle to town and a light over by the closet

Great Service - nice room! Mediocre food & mediocre hot springs.

Thank you to all. This was a great place and staff was wonderful. Food was very good.

Food pricing was a little higher than we anticipated but it was excellent! This is a beautiful place!! The staff were our favorite by far! Eduardo and Wilberth the best ever! Made us feel like family! They even arranged candles and cake with lights out and sang for Matt's bday. Great Sushi and drinks!

Beautiful property - customer service to the max!!

Food in main restaurant seemed expensive and did not offer smaller meals or snacks. We took a cab into town for dinner most nights. The Italian restaurant was very nice, was an amazing staff, but a little pricey.

Wished the hot springs were natural, but overall good experience

Would have been nice if refrig was restocked every day. We are only talking about 2 beers, 2 waters, 2 cokes.

It was nice and I would go again - the poolspring areas were littered with aquina feces and you could smell it at tye spring pools. Best Hawaiian pizza ever

Ver friendly. Felt restaurants were overpriced but they do have a captive audience since so far from town.

Food was VERY expensive, and without a car it was difficult to get to any local restaurants. Everything else was excellent.

This hotel was absolutely amazing. My only regret from the trip was not staying in the Arenal area longer!

We loved this hotel! The only reason it didn't get a higher score is because the bed was uncomfortable and the lighting in the room was terrible!!! At night, we couldn't see anything in the room. The room was large but there were only 2 small table lamps next to the beds and 2 very dim wall sconces. There was no light at all by the only counter in the room, which is where the coffee pot and fridge are located. Not even enough light to read by. A table lamp on that counter would certainly help. The food and drinks were a little pricey. But we definitely had a great time there.

Loved this hotel! The pool bar staff were not as friendly as some of the other places but it didn't take away from this being our favorite location!

The food cost was pretty steep at the resturants, but it was excellent food. They kept our bags at the front desk while we had a tour our last day and even let us go back to the pool when we returned and were waiting for our van. there was some work being done on our roof, so that wasn't the most relaxing.

Outstanding hotel, staff and amenities. We weren't wild about the food for dinner, but our preference is to eat out at local restaurants so this worked well for us. A great local restaurant is Soda Viques!

Beautiful grounds, nice room, very pleasant staff but we had hot water for 5 mns and then it would turn cold ..

Fantastic hotel. We appreciated especially getting the golf card rides to and from our distant condo.

I would have preferred being closer to town. We were quite isolated, although it was a lovely hotel. I think a less expensive hotel would have been fine.

Would have liked a different restaurant choice but otherwise great hotel, the best friendly staff, hot sprints were amazing. Would stay again in a minute

We loved the resort, but we also love to be a bit closer to a town, where you can walk around and get the local feel. I should have caught that up front, but I did not, so there we were. Absolutely lovely location, but it was a destination resort, which we traditionally do not choose.

Very beautiful grounds and hotel. Breakfast was delicious - lots of good choices. My only complaint would be that the main restaurant on the resort was very pricy for dinner. $34/plate for most selections! We ate in the Italian restaurant which was very good and much better value for dollar.

The upgrade for our room was amazing!!! Thank you so much.

i would have liked more vegetation and wildlife.

Staff is charming and exceptional. Beds are a bit firm. Breakfast buffet was a real treat. Other meals were OK.

Fabulous hotel- rooms were large and beautifully decorated. Loved pools/gardens etc. Great breakfasts.

The beds are very very hard. The pool closing at 10 pm was as bit disappointing.

This was a welcome rest after a long ride. The staff was courteous and helpful. The accommodations were very comfortable and spacious. The restaurant was great. The pool was the highlight of the stay. It was very refreshing after the drive up there. Great experience.

Breakfast were wonderful. At the restaurant, the food quality was great, but overpriced. There were not enough choices for more reasonably priced food. Desk had limited American dollars.
Water was turned off for over an hour and no advance notice provided. Desk should have called the rooms to notify guests.

The hotel and grounds were beautiful. We loved the shower in our room - the rock wall, the plants and the rainwater dipping down the wall. The breakfast buffet selections were very good. We also enjoyed the bar/pool area. My daughter was especially impressed with the flowering plants on the property. Oh yes, the arriving complimentary fruit drink added to the start of our vacation.

This was larger and more luxurious than we would have picked for ourselves but we were happy to stay there with our friends.

Location was great; room was great; hot springs were good. Only problem: because it is so far away from other locations, it would cost $24 plus tip to get a taxi back and forth to somewhere else for dining. The restaurant was very, very expensive and the food was "average" or adequate. (I am comparing this, for example to the food in the restaurant at Sugar Beach--better quality and less expensive. It was nice to have the privacy and smaller numbers of people in the hot springs. The room was great. We could sit on our porch and spot many species of birds. The staff was exceptionally helpful and nice. However, because of the expense of the restaurant, I wouldn't go back.

Only complaint is that the beds were very hard.

Beds were a bit hard for my taste and meals were expensive for what you got.

We would have liked to have stayed here a 3rd day, but no availability. Comfortable rooms, great pool / hot springs! The only downside is that dining options were limited to on-site restaurants. Food was good but expensive - $17 for a small salad. After asking for a vegetarian menu at the main restaurant, we had a wonderful dinner at more reasonable prices. Please encourage travelers to ask for this menu.

What a wonderful resort! Exceeded our expectations. The food was so good we never bothered to find a restaurant in town. The only downside was poor quality wi-fi, available only in the lobby during the day because the load was just too heavy for their system.

The Arenal Springs Hotel was very nice.
