Arenal adventures can fill a day, but Casa Luna Lodge gives you a reason to leave an afternoon open. In La Fortuna, Costa Rica, minutes from the volcano, the lodge pairs a natural setting and Arenal outlook with gardens, a pool and a spa. Head out into the region, then return for a swim, a treatment or a meal without turning every hour into another excursion.
The conservation-minded approach sits alongside comfortable accommodation and practical services. A restaurant and bar keep meals close at hand, while WiFi, laundry, safety deposit boxes and parking support a longer stay. For couples or families, the attraction is being able to enjoy the lodge between the active days—not simply pass through it.
The Arenal Volcano region invites you onto hanging bridges, volcano trails, ATV outings and into natural hot springs. A butterfly garden provides a gentler alternative. Pacific Trade Winds can help you choose the mix, leaving time for the lodge’s own pleasures. When members of your party want different paces, one can enjoy the spa while others head out, then everyone can meet again by the pool or at dinner.
Standard Deluxe garden-and-forest and volcano-view options put different landscapes outside the room. Standard Deluxe and Luna Superior accommodation include breakfast, a safe, hot water, air conditioning, cable TV and a mini-fridge. Luna Superior also has a terrace or balcony for outdoor time; compare the actual view and space when choosing your category.
Luna Junior Suite adds a hot tub, sofa bed and volcano-view terrace, while Luna Superior has sitting space and a terrace. Those distinctions matter when you want the accommodation itself to be part of the stay. Let the room choice and the days out complement each other, with a little space for the gardens, pool and spa.

Lovely hotel rooms very nice. Pool area lacking in sun loungers and most times no bar staff attending pool bar even though the hotel was full. A little to far to walk to town. Food and beverage expensive

Restaurant very expensive

Beautiful, lush expansive surroundings provided a cozy feeling and opportunity for exploring. Beautiful pool with plenty of seating and a snack bar. Very large comfortable room. Super friendly and helpful staff, especially Dennis, who we met at the pool on the day we arrived. All the staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful. The food and drinks were fresh and delicious.

Dinner at the lodge is a little expensive for something not that special. The location of the lodge was great allowing us to go to the rainforest chocolate tour and play on the rope swing in the river without having to catch a ride. We were also able to walk to the Arenal Oasis Frog sanctuary for a night hike from our hotel.

It went above and beyond my expectations! I will definitely be back

Great hotel, we had an amazing time. The restaurant had some of the best food we ate during our whole stay. The gardens attract a ton of birds which we spent hours watching. The nature trail in the back is beautiful and makes for a relaxing walk. The only complaint is that the beds were quite hard and uncomfortable and he rooms only had overhead lighting (no bedside lamps). Also they would start the breakfast service earlier to ensure people can eat before their tours. Despite that, I would highly recommend to anyone staying in the area, this place is great value for money!

Very nice hotel and staff. Good value for money. We enjoyed the swimming pool area, the breakfast, the view to Arenal ... One suggestion: it is still quite a walk to La Fortuna, hence a shuttle service would be really handy.

I really enjoy the peacefulness of the atmosphere of this hotel and the staff was amazing.

Room did not have some amenities that would have made for a better experience- reading lamp, chairs. The landscaping was top notch and attracted lots of birds.

Hostel staff was excellent. However there are room for improvements. there was no phone in the room. so each question required a trip to the reception. reception staff wasn't available at night. we had to request for coffee each time we needed it, by going to reception. Bathroom could have a place to hold the clothes, to make dress change easier. Food from the restaurant was exceptional. only minor suggestions to make it an exceptional experience.

Toucans and monkeys in the tree next to our room. Pity the septic tank was also there, leading to some odour issues

The gardens of this hotel are very beautiful, flowers and hummingbirds everywhere. The large covered patio of our 2nd floor room overlooked the gardens and was lovely to spend time on - we saw toucans! The little hot tubs tucked away off the path were lovely, and there is a short trail through the jungle along a small river where we saw blue jean frogs. The only drawback was that the back of the property where our rooms were located had an unfortunate sewer smell outside.

This is a nice hotel. The room was large enough and we appreciated having a balcony facing the volcano.
