Hotel Cascada de Fuego

Arenal

Good to Know

Hotel Cascada de Fuego offers a budget-friendly, lodge-style retreat in Arenal, ideally situated on the road to La Fortuna Waterfall. Designed for outdoors-focused travelers, it provides a practical base with tropical gardens, a swimming pool, and an on-site restaurant. Guests enjoy straightforward cabins featuring garden views, private bathrooms, cable TV, and complimentary breakfast. This property is perfect for those prioritizing exploration of the surrounding natural landscape over elaborate accommodation.

Cabin days on the waterfall road

On the road toward La Fortuna Waterfall, Hotel Cascada de Fuego offers a budget lodge-style base for an outdoors-focused Arenal visit. Tropical gardens and trails give you reasons to enjoy the grounds, while the waterfall route places one of the area’s signature outings close to your plans.

The swimming pool makes it easy to leave an afternoon unscheduled. Take a walk among the gardens, return for a swim or eat at the restaurant before heading out again. The property suits travelers who prefer a simple stay with time outside.

Cabins with breakfast included

Cabins have garden views, private bathrooms and cable television, and breakfast is included. Their straightforward facilities fit a trip in which excursions and the surrounding landscape are the main draw.

Arenal Volcano and La Fortuna open up a wide choice of outings, with your cabin and its garden view to return to at the end of the day.

Choose your way into the landscape

The excursions offer different perspectives on the rainforest. Hanging bridges bring you toward the canopy, river-boat safaris explore quieter waterways, and canyoning adds a more active encounter with the landscape. Guided horseback outings, butterfly gardens and hot-spring hikes provide alternatives when you want a gentler day. Plan your choices around your interests and budget, leaving enough time to enjoy the gardens when you return.

This is a small, budget lodge with helpful staff, rather than the service of a five-star ecolodge. Choose it for the waterfall-road location, cabin format and outdoor spaces, with breakfast included. Those are useful priorities for a traveler who wants a practical place to stay while putting more of the trip into exploring the Arenal area.

What makes this stay a good fit

  • On the La Fortuna Waterfall road: a budget lodge-style base connects your stay with one of the region’s signature outings.
  • Outdoor space to enjoy between tours: a pool, tropical gardens and garden-lined trails let you spend a day closer to the cabin.
  • Cabins with straightforward comforts: a private bathroom, cable television and garden view suit travelers who prioritize exploring over elaborate accommodation.
  • Breakfast included and a restaurant on site: meals can remain part of time at the property, rather than require another trip out.
  • Nature-focused outings at different paces: hanging bridges, river-boat safaris, canyoning, horseback trips, butterfly gardens and hot-spring hikes offer varied ways to explore.
  • Modest service expectations: choose Cascada de Fuego for the cabin format, waterfall-road location and budget approach rather than the facilities and service of a five-star ecolodge.

We were the only ones there, no one spoke english and some of the other cabins were nearly in complete ruins. During our 4 nights stay, we never received clean towels nor was the room cleaned or the bed made.
