The staff were totally incredible and we really liked the food onsite. It was a great stay near La fortuna but outside the hustle.
Find your place to stay
Mountain Paradise Hotel offers a tranquil Arenal escape, featuring a lagoon-like thermal pool with a swim-up bar and captivating views of Arenal Volcano. Guests can choose from accommodations with private Jacuzzis or plunge pools, enhancing downtime. Two on-site restaurants and a spa provide additional amenities, ensuring a relaxing stay. Conveniently located near La Fortuna and Lake Arenal, the hotel serves as an ideal base for both adventure and serene relaxation.
A thermal pool surrounded by tropical gardens sets a leisurely tone at Mountain Paradise Hotel. Swim up to the bar, pause with Arenal Volcano across the valley and leave the next excursion for later. The hillside setting, Spanish-style architecture and greenery make the hotel itself a pleasing part of an Arenal vacation, rather than simply somewhere to return after a day out.
The accommodation gives you several ways to enjoy that setting. A terrace with a Jacuzzi or a villa with a private plunge pool can turn downtime into something to look forward to. Two on-site restaurants and a spa add further reasons to keep a few hours free between adventures.
Choose the accommodation around these differences:
Costa Rican styling carries through the accommodation, with air conditioning, television, coffee-making facilities and a telephone providing everyday comforts. Wi-Fi is available in select areas, a useful detail to consider if you need to work during your stay. The appeal remains the outdoor space and outlook: some time on the terrace can be as welcome as the next outing.
Ave del Paraiso serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, bringing Costa Rican and international dishes into a setting with views of tropical gardens, jungle and the volcano. Arenal Koita opens for dinner with a similar menu and a full bar. You can keep an evening at the hotel without treating it as a compromise in the itinerary.
The spa offers massages and treatments for individuals and couples. Reserve in advance to help secure your preferred time and treatment, particularly if a spa visit is part of what you are looking forward to here.
La Fortuna is about ten minutes to the east, and Lake Arenal is about fifteen minutes to the west. Arenal Volcano National Park, waterfall visits and hanging bridges offer different ways to experience the landscape, while rafting, rappelling and ziplining add an active edge. Return for the lagoon-like pool or your villa's private outdoor space, and give that slower side of the trip equal room to unfold.
A lake visit can be a change from the forest, with fishing or simply enjoying Lake Arenal among the possibilities. A visit to the region's hot springs is another way to give an outdoor day a gentler finish. Hanging bridges take you toward the canopy, and a riverboat safari provides opportunities to look for monkeys, sloths, toucans and iguanas. Look for movement along the trees and riverbanks, giving the wildlife time to reveal itself.

This is a failing property with staff that was not very attentive. It seems like poor management. Do not recommend.

We really liked this place. The 2-bedroom 2 bath unit was perfect for our family and had real character as well as beautiful surroundings. My granddaughter liked the little pool, I liked the Jacuzzi and we all liked the view of Arenal. All the staff were great except the restaurant staff was inconsistent in the morning. The pool with swim up restaurant/bar was a big hit, and the one-man service team bartender there was exceptional. The front office staff and all the personnel we encountered on the grounds were lovely. My wife liked her spa experience a lot.

We absolutely loved it here. The front desk staff were extremely helpful.

Our room was set-up wonderfully. The kids had their own room and beds and we had a nice patio with a personal pool and hammock. The room did feel very humid though. We ate at the pool bar and the food was good. The pool was wonderful. So warm, which is what I love. The staff at the pool bar and reception area were so nice and in the morning, one of the bellhops took us down a path and showed us a toucan and helped us try to find a sloth. He also told us some interesting facts about Costa Rica.

This hotel was even better! We had a beautiful room and a waterfall to take showers in! We LOVED our time here. I got an amazing massage - the mountain paradise package - it was out of this world!

Nice setting. Private pool was awesome. Hotel staff was very nice, but one of he staff was quite pushy in wanting us to sign up for night tour.

A bit large for me with slightly odd style and expensive average food. Good base to enjoy locality. Wonderful view of volcano

The staff was exceptional but the hotel had NO storage, was extremely dark, I would call the room "cheesy or corny" and a bit dated. Good was pretty good and willing to help with our dietary needs.

This hotel has a neat atmosphere which we liked but the staff seems a little disengaged. The price to get to and from the hotel is quite high but that seems to be the same rate as the taxi so I guess that is just the going rate. The beds were comfortable. I enjoyed the room whereas my daughter felt it a little rustic. We enjoyed the pool and the breakfast was good. The landscaping was very pretty.

The hotel grounds were beautiful and the pool was nice but the whole place was a bit outdated and there was nothing to do except sit in the pool and drink. The food was also mediocre.

this was by far the most beautiful place I have ever been to the only down fall to this place was the menu the food was great but you could have used more choices on the menu but a cab ride to town is only a 10 minute tripe away. other then that they place is amazing and you can't beat the views.

Really enjoyed this hotel - greeted well and enjoyed the pool with its warm waterfalls. Loved the setting. Restaurant was disappointing as what was served was not what I had ordered.

Gorgeous hotel with exceptional amenities. Restaurant was a bit disappointing - average food and overpriced. We had much better food at local sodas that our driver recommended (such as Snappers in La Fortuna.)

I loved this hotel and the way the jungle foliage is all around and the staff was very friendly. it may not have had a hot spring, but the pool felt just like one!
The twin bed I had was not comfortable at all but everything else was amazing!!!!!
This hotel was beautiful! (especially the pool area)
Super place people very receptive and professional
Great stay, fantastic food!!! Very nice staff!!! Great nature all around!!!
The property has ton of Natural beauty and the staff was very accommodating and helpful.
Excellent food, staff and accommodation. I'd tell others to stay there, and we appreciated the recommendation from you. Only issue, Internet connection is spotty and keeps dropping.
The Mountain Paradise hotel was beautiful and roomy. The bungalow was very unexpected for the price. We enjoyed having a heated pool as well. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in the room would turn off after a few hours resulting in us getting up in the middle of the night twice to turn back on. The on-site restaurant was OK. The staff was very professional and helpful. We asked maintenance to help us with the air conditioning and a man was there almost immediately to help but we could not adequately explain the problem so I do not want to be harsh.
The Jacuzzi on our patio didn't work properly. The staff did try to fix it. The hotel dinner menu was overpriced and so so as far as items and taste. Some of the items were frozen. Breakfast was good. The snack menu at the bar was better. The alcohol choice was not great. Low quality. No top shelf choices available. The landscaping and serene/romantic vibe of the place was outstanding. So many humming birds and flora. It got expensive having to take cab rides to town for 12$ each way but that's not the hotel's fault. Just something I would have liked to know ahead of time.
Mountain Paradise Hotel features two on-site restaurants. Ave del Paraiso serves Costa Rican and international dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering views of tropical gardens, jungle, and the volcano. Arenal Koita opens for dinner with a similar menu and a full bar.

Villas Garabito and Villa Arenal feature two bedrooms and private plunge pools, with Villa Arenal also offering two bathrooms and a small dining area. Casitas Real are smaller accommodations with volcano views and a private plunge pool.
For relaxation, Mountain Paradise Hotel offers a lagoon-like thermal pool with a swim-up bar. Guests can also indulge in massages and treatments at the on-site spa, available for individuals and couples. Select accommodations further enhance relaxation with private Jacuzzis or plunge pools.
Mountain Paradise Hotel is conveniently located approximately ten minutes east of La Fortuna and about fifteen minutes west of Lake Arenal.
