This affordable and budget-friendly hotel is set at the base of the hill in Manuel Antonio and is spread out in two sections, one on each side of the main road. Hotel amenities include beach access from the beach side of the property, an open-air seaside restaurant, swimming pool, tropical gardens, and WiFi in some areas.

Manuel Antonio is an ecotourist paradise with plenty of options for just about everybody. Hotel Karahe is set in close proximity to many of the areas top attractions. A walk down to the beach side of the property allows easy access to the picturesque golden sands of Playa Espadilla, Manuel Antonios most popular beach. Manuel Antonio National Park is right around the corner, only a couple of minutes drive away and there are shops, restaurants, and more right in the same area as the park entrance.

Guests of the Karahe can also just unwind and take in the relaxing vibe of the hotel. Take a short stroll down the beach in front of the hotel. When you come back, the swimming pool is a great place to unwind. Surrounded by lounge chairs and tropical gardens, you can take a dip and then soak up the sun and work on the perfect tan.

The open-air seaside restaurant is well-known for Peruvian dishes and typical Costa Rican fare. They also serve a delicious selection of fresh seafood. Not hungry? That's okay too, order up some Costa Rican coffee or even a pina colada and enjoy the sounds of tropical birds and the waves crashing in the background.

Rooms at the Karahe Hotel are distributed on both sides of the main road of Manuel Antonio. The Beachfront Rooms are on the lower end, on the beachfront side of the property. The Standard Rooms and Villas are on the opposite side of the hotel, on the mountainside. The Villas are further up the hill and require ascending approximately 70 stairs. They are, however, more spacious and secluded than the other rooms. Please check the Room Amenities section for a comprehensive list of amenities offered in each room style.

Great place on the beach. Staff were friendly and professional. Location is perfect for exploring Manuel Antonio

Great location, we were on the beach side. So going for morning walks on the beach were easy, breakfast were great. Again having so many animals - monkeys, iguana's crabs, lizards and others was really awesome.

Steps to the villa were a bit challenging but worth the view and privacy. You guys warned me about that so it's not a complaint. The only challenge was that everything (like stores, restaurants, etc) is a bit far and you can't walk there because it's dangerous since there are no sidewalks.

Other than at check in which was across the street, staff is not really a presence. Somewhat less friendly and helpful than at other hotels. Loved being on the beach. Hotel was really nice and location was very good.

The hotel had beautiful gardens and was conveniently located near the beach. Our room, however, was right on the road and it was extremely loud as cars and buses whizzed by. It was like there was no insulation whatsoever to outside road noise. The restaurant was great, the staff was great and we saw many monkeys and other wildlife.

Freaking gem. The beach is right there, not crowed. Perfect and right on the bus line to go in to town
Very helpful staff as well, set us up nicely.

There were sloths in the tress right outside the restaurant! My daughter loved that and the location was awesome

Luckily we were on the water side; this place felt a bit more run down than others we saw.

hotel great but food was expensive and not worth the money

Liked being close to beach property pretty and the hotel restaurant was good. The room had little issues ants in bathroom and small leak but staff was helpful.

I expected a better view given that I had paid for a villa. Could barely see the ocean. In room wifi sucked. Also, I spotted a lizard on the wall inside my room and the hotel staff checked up on it. I know this is very common in CR but they make me really uneasy and I kept hearing them the whole time. This made it difficult to enjoy the nice villa I had. But this is a personal issue. Hotel did not do anything wrong. Btw never understood why such a nice hotel did not include a hairdryer? Or a coffee maker. Or a TV. El Viandante being a simpler hotel had more amenities than this one!

This hotel was a fantastic location and had amazing breakfast with a breathtaking view of the beach! Also had direct access to the beach and free beach chairs for guest use. The staff was friendly and super accommodating, our time here was fantastic!

We loved Hotel Karahe; the room, the staff, the beach and the restaurant were all wonderful. Being on the beach was the best.

The view was spectacular from our room, the only drawback was all the stairs to climb to get to it.

This was a great hotel with a wonderful on-site restaurant with good food. It has great beach access, friendly staff willing to help any way they can and nice rooms. The only reason it did not receive all 10's was the layout of the hotel. We stayed in one of the rooms on the hill, the office was at mid-level of the property and the restaurant and beach access were at the bottom of the hill, including a very dangerous run across the main street at a curve to reach the lower amenities. It made getting to our room difficult after eating.

The best part was the proximity to a beautiful beach. The next best was ERICA! The rooms size was good and recently updated third floor was well done. The restaurant staff was very pleasant. The restaurant quality was very good. We were a bit taken aback upon arrival, when we were not greeted and upon entering the room, seeing no phone and no way to contact staff, no place to put our personal items or no luggage racks. There were two small bedside tables, but no dresser and no luggage racks. The safe was not connected to the wall and could have been easily carried away and left unused. I hope they did not charge for that or the pool towels. All in all a great place with just a few tweaks to increase the ratings. We are very happy we were at Karahe instead of the Falls. While we did not see the Falls, without a car, it would have been very inconvenient to the flexible go to the beach goal.
