The suite was better than expected. Very spacious and comfortable. The huge balcony is a nice bonus.
Hotel room was not very comfortable and it was small. Staff was wonderful. Location was wonderful.
Nice location to activities.
Amazing hotel lovely staff and great food - plus the monkeys were amazing. The beach was so close too!
Perfect except the power outage which obviously is not in there control
Great location for Manuel Antonio park. Great recommendations for food from staff. The room was basic but clean and had everything we needed. Pizza was just ok. Drinks were good.
Really lovely hotel, wonderful staff.
Walking distance to the beach was a huge benefit.
This is a must for families or adult only groups. Great location and friendly staff. The rooms were fantastic. Small pool but who cares you are a 2 minute walk to the ocean.
Loved, loved, loved this hotel. Location to Park was great! Pizza was fantastic. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Hope to return here.
Great hotel, just off the beach. Perfect location for a stroll on the beach
The desk staff was so friendly and gave us tips on how to sign up for national park tickets, where to eat, and how to get where we were going. Loved the design of this hotel, and the vibe in general. Perfect for our needs.
This hotel was so quaint and such a nice place to experience Manuel Antonio. The landscapes, rooms, facilities, pool, were all so well put together. Proximity to the National Park, beach, restaurants, was fun to be that close to the action. It was also really nice to not have a huge hotel and be able to interact with the guests on site. The wildlife that would come hang at the pool added so much fun to the experience. Breakfast every day was delicious. The tiki bar and drinks were a great addition to the pool area. Staff was very friendly and knew who we were.
Lovely hotel, tucked away in the jungle but very convenient to the national park and beach. Excellent!
Very friendly staff. Great location. They made great suggestions for tour options. Overall a wonderful time.
This hotel is perfectly located in Manuel Antonio - close to the beach and to the Park. A small but nice swimming pool, with a nice bar and a very good pizza.
Very nice stay for good value. Convenient location.
We picked this place due to the location. It did not disappoint. The staff and facilities were great!
Loved it!!! Cute little boutique hotel close to the National Park.
Loved this beautiful hotel! We loved that it was within walking distance to most things. The staff was very friendly and the front desk helped us with questions and booking excursions. Breakfast was delicious and loved that they had a small buffet, but also a small menu to order from. Food was fresh and delicious! We enjoyed using the pool. They also decorated our room for our anniversary!
La Vela Hotel was awesome! We loved the hotel, and the staff were awesome - very professional but so friendly and caring. If we could rate them higher than 10, we would.
Hotel room smelled at first of mold. Humidifier was on and staff said housekeeper may have run out of room deodorizer? Humidifier was a little loud, but necessary. The bed room and bath room were a bit cramped. Fresh ground coffee in the room was a plus and the pool and breakfast were nice.
Loved this hotel so much! They had the friendliest staff we encountered across all of our stays. Everything about our stay here was top-notch. The location was perfect. We enjoyed being walking distance to the beach, the park, and shopping and yet if we wanted to retreat to the hotel pool, it was secluded and beautiful. I sat outside and listened to the howler monkeys in the mornings and watched the white-faced monkeys near the resort in the evenings. Perfection.
It was intimate. Had all the amenities you want, but felt homey too. Room A/C worked great
When we arrived (very late) we were greeted by the welcoming smiling face of Marcella. What a lovely young woman and her kindness continued throughout our stay.. She was very helpful with information about the area.
The entire staff was amazing but another standout was Rodrigo, the breakfast captain and waiter. We enjoyed starting each day with him. One morning we wanted to order the Pico Gallo breakfast but since we are allergic to meat Rodrigo confirmed that the dish is made with chicken stock so we ordered something else. A minute later, Rodrigo said he spoke to the cook and she would make us Pico Gallo with water instead. It was delicious. Rodrigo didn't have to do what he did but WOW it was so thoughtful.
Good location staff again amazing.
The hotel was in a perfect location, walking distance to the beach and right down the street from the entrance to Manual Antonio National Park. We loved seeing monkeys on the roof and in the trees during our stay there! And, it was great seeing Ramon, the Iguana, and a Chireppo reptile hanging around the swimming pool. The hotel had a bad odor outside between the pool and our room, but inside the room was fine. They only offered 1 pillow per person which isn't great if you usually sleep on two pillows. The staff at the pool and at breakfast couldn't have been nicer.
Lovely vibe, wonderful hotel! Would have liked a sitting area in the room. Felt very homey. Lovely grounds and great clientele and location!
The wifi connection kept breaking all the time though that could be due to our room location being so far away from the front desk maybe but the hotel was beautiful, personal attention from the staff, and we had very close experience with capuchin monkeys. Nice and private location. Very close to the beach.
Didn't like that there was no ice machine, that the pool bar was closed on Monday's and that they lost power.
The hotel and the staff were lovely
Excellent location and the grounds were very nice. It's a small hotel but doesn't feel crowded. Lots of Canadians there as well!
Great little boutique hotel; wonderful staff; great location.
Something of an oasis in Manuel Antonio and it was good to have the excellent restaurant Morpha so near by. Otherwise MA very disappointing.
La Vela was a perfect hotel! We loved its location, and close proximity to both Manuel Antonio, national park and the beach. The staff members at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful, including Nacho, and Miguel.
I loved how close we were to the beach. Happy hour was so fun. Monkeys came out to visit at 4pm.
Very friendly staff. Nicely landscaped. Walk to town felt unsafe due to drivers. Room was a little small for 3 days. If were to book again, would get a larger room towards the back that offered more privacy. Love the wildlife.
I did not quite expect the many hotels in the area, but ours seemed small and out of the hustle a bit and I liked the "vibe".
Amazing accommodations and the staff was great
Great hotel location. We loved a huge and cozy two store family suite. Showers are outdated and could use some improvements.
We really enjoyed the location of this hotel. Close to the national park and beach. Our rooms were very nice; however, they all had a strong mold smell that was masked with air fresheners. The bar and wood fire pizza was great. Everyone enjoyed the pool.
A perfect location- walking distance to the park, the beach, and nearby restaurants. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Only had pizza for dinner, but very tasty.
Very comfortable hotel was exceptional staff.
Hotel staff was amazing
Beautiful hotel and we really loved the location so close to the beach and national park.
Overall this hotel was very nice. The pool area was beautiful, and there were all sorts of interesting lizards to see. The bartender was great. Again, the bathrooms didn't have shower doors, so the water leaked out a bit. Overall the rooms were very comfortable. They didn't have a full restaurant, but they did server pizza which was pretty tasty. Breakfast was decent - it was part buffet and part made-to-order. It was probably my least favorite breakfast of the three hotels we stayed at. The hotel was extremely close to the beach and the national park, as well as a laundry service, so a very convenient location. However, the road leading to the beach did not have a sidewalk, and was often congested with cars.
Great little hotel, perfectly situated near National Park and public beach! Cool, comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Individually made breakfasts!
Super location, close to the beach and park but far from the noise of the main road. Great wood oven baked pizza in the hotel. Fantastic restaurant less than 100m walk.
The staff made this experience fabulous. Everyone went out of their way to be so friendly and provided us with exceptional service. We had a few issues with our room but overall great experience!
We loved the location! The hotel was beautiful and the room was very comfortable. Out of the three hotels we stayed in, this one was our favorite.
The hotel was nice, small and cozy. Loved it! The staff was attentive, nice and super nice.
HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend.
Staff was amazing here and even helped arrange some trips for us on our free days!! Loved this hotel and so many monkeys greeted us each day.
Family suite was a really nice experience.
Easy to acces restaurants, beach and park. Best bartender we had!!
Walking distance to everything! The staff was incredible! The wood fired pizza was delicious, affordable, and was quick! When we left early, the security guard walked us to the reception area and the hostess made us sandwiches for our trip back to San Jose.
Great location near the park and an excellent restaurant.
this was our favorite hotel of the two - loved the intimate feel and being surrounded by jungle
Great location, lovely gardens, wildlife, friendly and helpful staff,, close to park and water. Comfy
Great hotel with closeness the national park . Staff was very friendly and helped with fresh towels and bathrooms after we checked out.
We loved this little hotel. So modern and clean. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful.
Great location within walking distance of the national park, the beach, and restaurants. Staff was very helpful with advice and directions; pool and tiki bar/pizza were great and very relaxing.
I loved this hotel - the staff were all so friendly and the ambiance was wonderful. Great wildlife all around the hotel and the pizza at the pool bar was very good. We loved being so close to the beach and the national park.
LOVED the Junior Suite!
Lovely place and the most friendly staff of all.
Room very comfortable . Loved being near the beach and Manual Anontio park.
Nice, small boutique hotel. Enjoyed the small pool for a refreshing dip during the heat. Loved the wood-fired pizza oven at the poolside where we could order a quick pizza any time during the afternoon or evening. Very nice breakfast buffet. Entertaining to see monkeys occasionally in the surrounding trees. Bathrooms were a little tired and not quite as big as they might be. Very nice balconies for relaxing.
The most amazing location and hotel. The staff were so amazing and helpful! We would definitely return to this hotel!
Hotel staff was incredible, our originally booked suite didn’t meet expectations so they upgraded us and were amazingly accommodating about it!!
GREAT STAFF AND HOTEL
Wish the room was a little bigger since we we sharing rooms but the place itself definitely had a boutique feel; nice and cozy. The breakfast food was great and so was the service; Rodrigo, who oversaw the breakfast service, was great. The location of the hotel to the beach (walking distance) was a big plus.
This was an amazing little hotel. We could not have been more pleased. It is a beautiful location.
Great location, accommodating staff. We arrived early but were headed out again in an hr. They contacted housekeeping and got us a room early so we had a place for our stuff.
Absolutely loved this hotel, staff were amazing friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, room was over the top amazing
Nicest hotel of the trip.
This location was great and it was clean and the breakfast was wonderful.
This is a truly hidden gem. The location is perfect and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating.
Nice hotel in the perfect location - a couple hundred meters from the beach and a couple hundred meters from Manuel Antonio National Park. Good pizza!
Fantastic boutique hotel!
The front desk staff and bartender made this an even more amazing trip!! It felt like we were staying with friends. They got to know my family and made it a special stay for all of us. Everything felt very personalized. We would definitely stay here again!
My favorite hotel of the trip. Literally minutes from the entrance of Manuel Antonio Park and a short walk to the beach. the staff were amazing. I spent some time everyday by the pool hanging out with the resident iguana and spider monkeys. The bartender keeps bananas behind the bar for the monkeys and I got to feed them. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Manuel Antonio.
Loved this hotel. We saw more animals here than anywhere else in Costa Rica! Perfect proximity to the beach and to restaurants. Great customer service. I would stay here again.
La Vela is perfectly located and just the right size. It was especially nice having Karlos Andreas form PTW in the shop connected to La Vela. He was a great source in information and assistance to us.
This is a great hotel due to its proximity to the beach. The pancakes at breakfast were delicious and very fluffy. There are some tiny bees around the food which is not great but i dont think that can be helped. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Even though breakfast was included, there wasn’t a restaurant on site.
The hotel next door was much nicer and had beautiful grounds and a great restaurant (we ate several meals there.). The price was similar. The amenities were much nicer.
Outstanding! Staff was very friendly and hard working.
Nice hotel, everything alright, but unfortunately this room was with a double bed, instead of 2 singles
This hotel was so cute! I really enjoyed staying so close to the beach and tucked away a bit. It was also close to the national park, which was very convenient. I really enjoyed this little hotel. The room was small, but I was staying alone so I had no problems with it at all!
room was huge, two floors but lots of light coming in upstairs so no one wanted to sleep there. we fought about who needs to sleep upstairs. I wish i would have kept original plans to stay at parador and enjoy views from up above. national park was just ok but it was nice that it was nearby to hotel. staff were quick to help with everything .
Our favorite! Loved it! Loved the location the hotel the pizzas everything!! Again super nice touch for our son’s bday!!
Great hotel to stay at in Manuel Antonio. Comfortable room, with nice pool and good breakfast and pizza. Friendly staff. Great location within few minutes walking distance to the National Park entrance.
This hotel was fantastic. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the boutique experience and the 'smaller' size of the property- it felt quaint and private. The location was perfect for access to the beach and National Park.
La Vela was very nice and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Great small hotel and location!
The wood cooked pizza was excellent and great service with cocktails and breakfast.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Walk to the beach was just 3 minutes away.
Beds were really comfortable. Rooms were very tidy when we returned. Great breakfast.
Perfect little hotel with friendly staff with great soda next to it. Location is perfect
Very cute perfectly located little gem. Staff was nice, pool happy hour great, great experience.
Great location in a wonderful coastal resort town. Staff did a great job giving advice on activities. Breakfast was very enjoyable.
Loved having a room right next to the pool! The staff were able to recommend great activities to do in the evening. Everyone was very friendly.
Super place to stay and super convenient to everything! The staff were all excellent and the pepperoni pizza could easily be called New York Style! Beautiful pool area and very helpful people. wonderful!
The best hotel of the trip. The staff helped us to get the covid test we needed to return home.
Nice hotel, close to the beach and park. Monkeys visit the hotel frequently. I just couldn't give 10 after staying in El Silencio del Campo right before La Vela.
Beautiful place, perfect location for us.
