Located on the Manuel Antonio hillside, the resort is within walking distance to several cafes, restaurants, and spas. The main beach area is a few kilometers down the road, but the resort has exclusive beach access at the bottom of the property. The national park, at the end of the main beach, is the top attraction, providing a home to numerous rare and exotic species of wildlife.
Most visitors to Manuel Antonio come for the jungle-beach experience. Seemingly countless eco-tourist activities are available. Adventurers can soar through the treetops on canopy zipline adventures or go whitewater down tropical rivers. Beachgoers can take surfing lessons or go parasailing. Nature lovers will love a guided hike through the national park or a jungle safari cruise through the Damas Island Estuary. Anglers can enjoy some of the best offshore sport fishing in the world. While Manuel Antonio has plenty to offer, there is also plenty to do at the resort. The Preserve at Los Altos offers clearly marked hiking trails through their forest. The trails and wildlife found on the property rival those found in the national park. Toucans, monkeys, and sloths are always making their way through. The beach at the bottom of the preserve is in an entirely natural state, as one would expect in Manuel Antonio. Backed by jungle-lined hills and framed by gorgeous rock outcroppings, the beach is a postcard of peace and tranquility. The resort offers a scheduled beach shuttle between the resort and the beach throughout the day.
The infinity swimming pool is built into the hillside to provide the feel of a floating oasis in the jungle. There's a beautiful lounge area, and a drink and snack bar. Just down from the pool, there are two heated Jacuzzis with ocean views.
The resort's Orquidea Spa is near the infinity pool, offering sweeping views of the rainforest and ocean. An oasis of peace and tranquility, the spa offers a luxurious menu of treatments, therapies, and facials. Visit on your own or bring your partner for a delightful couples session.
The residences at Los Altos Resort come in one, two, three, or four bedroom units. The Rainforest Suites are on the lowest floor, offering garden and forest views and partial views of the ocean. The Treetop Ocean and Jungle View Suites are a level up and provide better ocean and forest views. The Panoramic Ocean View Suites offer breathtaking views of the Manuel Antonio coastline and jungle canopy. The Penthouse Suites are 4,200 square feet of absolute luxury. They consist of three levels with up to four bedrooms that can accommodate up to eight. The ocean and jungle views are spectacular. All residences are available with one, two, or three bedrooms. The Penthouse Suites offer up to four bedrooms. All condos are luxuriously furnished and tastefully decorated, offering air-conditioning, ceiling fans, cable television, separate bedrooms, equipped kitchen, living room, and many other furnishings. Los Altos Resort will be experiencing construction in the pool area, restaurant, and spa from August 28, 2023, through October 31, 2023. We are told that the restaurant will still be open or guests can order and dine in their room. Similarly, spa services will be available either in your room or another.

We loved staying in the same apartment. However, some of the beds were really squeaky and it was hard to sleep on them.

We were very happy with the resort and its staff except for the beach. The beach was terrible. We didn't stay at Manuel Antonio Park to enjoy the beach after our tour because we thought we'd just go to the resort beach. When we got to the resort beach we were very dissappointed!

Another fabulous choice. We were all stunned when we stepped off the elevator to find that the entire floor was ours. Hadn't realized the kids had separate rooms which was wonderful. We had a gorgeous terrace overlooking a raised garden. Dinner was fine at the restaurant, but probably our least impressive meal at the all resorts and the meal was very expensive. It was fabulous that they offered boxed breakfasts for the mornings that we were gone before the breakfast opened. Make sure to specify if you don't want meat in your breakfast omelet.

I was very disappointed with this stop, I was really looking forward to being at the beach and this is NOT the place to do it. The road to the beach is washed out and the vehicle that is supposed to be able to do shuttles was broken down, and as mentioned one of us was injured and they made no effort to assist. The apartment was great except that the elevator opens directly into it and at random times strangers would suddenly be looking at us from the elevator. The rest of the resort was tired looking, railings were coming unwrapped, path coverings moldy, and reception staff generally not very friendly. The restaurant staff was pleasant and food was OK. I would recommend staying elsewhere, and if this is the best of Manuel Antonio, I would stay in another town.

The space of our unit was incredible. It was almost too big for just the three of us. We appreciated being close to restaurants and shops as the on site restaurant didn’t really offer a good variety of options. The staff was nice but not always attentive.

Loved this resort! They even had a free guided hike every day which was excellent! We saw toucans and monkeys on the hotel grounds and they had awesome trails. The beach was so nice and they had free shuttles going back and forth every 20 minutes. You could walk to other restaurants and grocery stores. Wonderful buffet breakfast in their gorgeous restaurant overlooking the ocean and grounds. We just loved this place!!!

Amaaaaazing resort. The grounds and pool were lovely and the room and views over the top. We saw macaws, toucans, sloths and monkeys around the pool and surrounding area. And the location right downtown was stellar with access to all the restaurants and shops.

This was a great place. Staff was warm and personable - always remembered our names. We loved the unique experience of staying in a gorgeous resort with trail and beach access while being just steps away from shopping and restaurants. We will recommend this place.

Beach was a distance from hotel...van was not available to take us down to beach but did pick us up. No chairs or towels available at beach. Pool was lovely. Staff was helpful.

Initially was disappointed with the construction happening at the entrance...I had asked about any construction and was surprised to see it. Noise affected the quiet a bit, but we still overall loved the place.

Hotel is typical upper-end condo. Knowing have visited Maharashtra and hidden canopy treehouse and seeing what is in/around the los altos, would not visit this location in the future.

Amazing to have a full apartment. The restaurant was pretty basic and the pool staff were slow and not very attentive. However, the overall place was superb.

I had expectations that we could actually go to the beach from the hotel, and the public beach was 15 min away and the very nice beach is in the national park and not easy to get to. It was gorgeous and fine once I changed my expectations, but it would have been good to know that basically we were going to be at the pool, overlooking the ocean.

There wasn't a person at the desk to check us out when we left at 4:15am, so we we unable to settle our bill. We were very impressed with the location, beach, pool, and room, and their dedication to conservation and preservation of the environment.
