Layan Hotel And Spa

Manuel Antonio

Good to Know

At Layan Hotel And Spa, rainforest-covered hills frame Pacific views from terraces and balconies. An infinity pool, gardens and locally inspired dining make the hotel worth enjoying between outings. Massage treatments take place in your room; Pacific Trade Winds clients booking through Pacific Trade Winds receive a 15% in-room massage discount. The hotel is not beachfront or within walking distance of the beach.

A hillside outlook over Manuel Antonio

The Pacific stretches beyond the rainforest-covered hillside at Layan Hotel And Spa, giving a stay in Manuel Antonio an inviting sense of space. From the terraces and balconies, the coast becomes part of the day: a view to pause over before heading out, and a place to return to as sunset draws your attention back to the ocean. The hotel’s elevated setting puts greenery around you and the coastline in front of you, with the pleasures of Manuel Antonio waiting beyond the grounds.

Make time for the view

The infinity pool is a natural gathering point for an afternoon at the hotel. Take a swim, settle beside the water and enjoy the coastal outlook without planning another excursion. Landscaped gardens provide places for a leisurely stroll and quieter moments among the tropical greenery. Here, keeping a little time free can be part of making the most of the hillside.

A comfortable counterpart to the coast

The rooms and suites give the outlook a comfortable indoor counterpart. Contemporary styling, welcoming furnishings and fine linens make it inviting to settle in, while private balconies or terraces draw you back outside toward the coast. The individual categories differ in room features and views: a Superior Room Ocean View, for example, has an ocean outlook and terrace, while other choices emphasize jungle or partial ocean views. Choose the accommodation for the time you plan to spend there, not simply as a place to sleep between tours.

Massage and spa services take place in the privacy of your room, making a treatment part of those quieter hours. Pacific Trade Winds clients receive a special 15% discount on in-room massage treatments when booking their vacation through Pacific Trade Winds. You can leave an afternoon open for the pool, a walk through the gardens and a treatment before thinking about the evening.

Local flavors and ocean sunsets

The restaurant brings Costa Rican and international flavors together using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Seafood and tropical fruits connect meals with the region you have come to explore. The bar offers another reason to linger at the hotel, with a refreshing drink and the coastal scenery setting the tone for an unhurried evening.

Explore Manuel Antonio, then return to the hillside

Manuel Antonio’s beaches, rainforest and wildlife give you plenty of ways to shape the days beyond the hotel. Trails in Manuel Antonio National Park and guided wildlife tours offer opportunities to look for monkeys, sloths and tropical birds. Zip-lining, waterfall rappelling and whitewater rafting bring a more adventurous rhythm to the trip.

Evenings can extend beyond the hotel when you feel like a change. Manuel Antonio’s restaurants and shops invite browsing, with local crafts and souvenirs along the way; nearby Quepos adds nightlife. Returning to the hill after that activity restores the quieter side of the stay, with a balcony, the coast beyond the greenery and no need to make every evening follow the same plan.

Why choose this Pacific-view hillside retreat?

  • Sweeping Pacific outlooks from a rainforest-covered hill make the scenery part of the stay. Choose Layan for elevated coastal views, terraces and sunset time rather than a beachfront location.
  • The beach is not within walking distance, and the hotel is not directly beachfront. Plan beach visits as outings with transport so the hillside setting fits your expectations.
  • The infinity pool and landscaped gardens invite a day with breathing room. You can swim, stroll or linger over the coast without arranging another excursion.
  • The restaurant blends Costa Rican and international dishes using locally sourced ingredients, including seafood and tropical fruits. A bar adds a place for a drink and an unhurried evening with the scenery.
  • Massage and spa services are provided in the privacy of your room. An in-room treatment makes relaxation part of your own quiet time.
  • A 15% discount on in-room massage treatments is available only to Pacific Trade Winds clients booking their vacation through Pacific Trade Winds. It adds a specific benefit to choosing an in-room treatment during your stay.
  • Spacious rooms and suites combine contemporary styling with private balconies or terraces. Room-specific outlooks and amenities vary, so compare the accommodation as well as the hotel’s general coastal setting.
  • Park walks, guided wildlife outings, ziplining, waterfall rappelling and rafting give active days their place. Restaurants, shopping and Quepos nightlife add alternatives before you return to a quieter hillside base.

The view is amazing! Cozy and private. Restaurant was beautiful, food was good. The bat cave bar was dank and musty and there is an unused bar at the restaurant, they should open up the bar with the view and close the bat bar unless they can properly staff it.

Pamela K.

We LOVED this place! The hotel is so cool, the staff was amazing, friendly, and FUN. The view was incredible, the was a lot of wildlife to enjoy, and it was within walking distance to two beaches. Fantastic.

The staff was very friendly and helped with any questions or needs we had. The view and room was beautiful!

View, staff, accommodations were amazing. What a place!

Cynthia P.

We had a fantastic room on the third floor with a beautiful view! The staff was super nice, many did not speak good English, but we learned some Spanish along the way. It would be good to prepare people to have handy a translator app or book to help make their experience more enjoyable.

Kennard G.

Our room had little or no ambiance for a Presidential Suite. It was comfortable but dated. And the constant power interruption, though not a big deal, was irritating with the increasing frequency of interruption and A/C cutoff.

David T.

Wonderful hotel with a great pool and view. We truly relaxed here!

Bruce A.

Very nice hotel, but staff did not pay attention to details. Room did not have a refrigerator. Was an extra charge. Private beach was not really private and was a long walk to get to beach. Food was good, but not much of a selection as Arenal Manoa. Enjoyed our stay.

Marcela

A little noisy since the room next to ours had some construction going on. Did notice that landscape wasn't maintained grass needed mowing outside our room a little dissappointed compared to Arenal Springs Resort daily maintenance but overall nice stay

Michael M.

The hotel was nice but small details like the lawn in front of our room for sure needed to be mowed. The room had no fridge had to order one plus drinks to put in it had to be bought from them.
