Overview

Located on the northwest coast of the Nicoya Peninsula, Tamarindo draws in thousands of tourists who wish to experience the tropical surf culture that this beach town has to offer. While the liveliness of Tamarindo’s streets may be exciting for an afternoon of shopping, returning to the tranquil setting of Hotel Arco Iris is a soothing experience. This midrange boutique hotel is a fan favorite because it is located away from the main road, offering a peaceful setting, yet within a few minutes walk, you will be at the beach. Hotel Arco Iris offers you an affordable stay in Tamarindo, and it provides you with breakfast, a pool, restaurant, garden, internet access, and parking.

Picture hypnotic rolling waves, golden colored sand, and crystal clear blue skies that stretch forever, and you have perfectly imagined the crescent playa of Tamarindo. Surfers of all levels flock to this area, because of the consistent waves.

The subtle scent of coconut lofts through the beach air, as tourists spray their bronzing bodies with sunscreen to prepare for a day of sunbathing. Just a few minutes on the beach of Tamarindo, and you will notice the many surf instructor stations. The gentle waves that lap up and down, combined with the knowledgeable and friendly surf instructors make Tamarindo Beach an ideal spot for beginner surfers to learn. After a fun day of salt water and sun, you may just want to indulge in one of the many beachside bars or restaurants for fresh ceviche and a real lime margarita. If you find your skin a touch too sun-kissed, a day of shopping might be the way to go. Tamarindo has countless boutiques to choose from. After, paint the town red in your new outfit with a night of beach bar hopping, or keep it more low key with some local live music.

While the wide range of tourists and friendly locals make Tamarindo an exciting place to be, lounging at the Hotel Arco Iris pool is a lovely way to dream away the afternoon. location was perfect

Our room was spacious, with high ceilings and tiles floors. The refrigerator contained minibar items, but there was still room for our food and beverages. The complimentary breakfasts were good, but not as good as Hotel Conchal. It appears that the hotel pays/subcontracts a couple of women to prepare it, and there was no variety from day-to-day. We did not eats dinner in the restaurant, but my wife had a dessert that was good. Francisco was very helpful, but the staff wasn't as warm and welcoming as the Hotel Conchal. The Iris is very convenient to a bank, grocery store and laundry service. We found several good restaurants in Tamarindo.

Although the restaurant had great reviews we didn't find it that great....had to pay cash....only open in the evening.....no bar during the day. We enjoyed other restaurants down the road much more. Our room was quite small and occasionally we would have issues with water pressure and the A/C. On a positive note, the owner made his presence known and was quite a friendly guy.

We loved Hotel Arco Iris and would definitely return to stay here again. We loved that it was a little farther away from the coastline so it was quieter and hidden from the chaos of Tamarindo. The staff were very kind and the owner was wonderful. Breakfast was great and all of the staff were very friendly.
