Miravalles Volcano Combo Tour

Today’s fun and fascinating full day tour will take you into the mountains by bus to a local farm at the base of the Miravalles Volcano where you will begin to see geyser fields. Next you will go by horseback or horse drawn carriage up the volcano to the beginning of an easy guided hike to observe bubbling mud and steam vents, stopping to enjoy several scenic mountain waterfalls. Then you can immerse yourself in the natural woodland hot springs and mud baths breathing in the mountain air surrounded by lush tropical foliage. Afterwards you’ll be treated to a hearty Costa Rican traditional meal before boarding the bus to head back through the mountains to your hotel. Note that one way transport times from El Jobo can take up to 3 hours, other locations between 1 and 2.5 hours depending upon which area you are staying.

Scuba Diving Catalinas Islands

Today you will go on a two tank scuba dive off the Pacific coast to the Catalina Islands. You will be picked up from your hotel and brought to the dive center to meet your professional dive master and receive diving equipment. Then you will board a covered dive boat and ride for 20 minutes offshore to reach the island chain where you will go scuba diving at sites selected for best visibility and abundance of marine life. This tour includes: a licensed boat captain, a professional dive master, all scuba gear, bottled water and transportation from Tamarindo, Riu as well as from the Flamingo and Papagayo areas. One way transportation can take from 15 minutes to 1 hour depending on your pick up location. Combined time scuba diving tour and round trip transportation ranges between 3.5 to 5.5 hours. Please bring along bathing suit, towel, sun protection and any equipment you wish to bring as well as dry clothes to change into. All participants must be PADI certified.

Surf Lesson - Arenas Adventure Tours

Today you’ll be taken to Tamarindo to learn how to surf! Surfing is fun for people of all ages who know how to swim and are physically fit. This tour includes a professional surf instructor, high quality surf board, bottled water and transportation from Flamingo, JW Marriot Guanacaste and Tamarindo. If you are staying in Tamarindo, you may get picked up on ATVs so please make a note if you would like to make other arrangements. One way transportation can take from 15 to 45 from your hotel to the beach, depending on your pick-up location. Combined time of transportation and surf lesson can be between 2.5 and 3 hours. Please bring your bathing suit, towel, sun protection and a rash guard. Rash guards (water shirts) are available to rent from your surf school instructor if you should choose to rent one. Rincon de la Vieja National Park Hike

Today you will go on a hiking adventure at Rincon de la Vieja National Park where you will see steaming fumaroles, bubbling mud, geysers, and other volcanic activities. You will be picked up from your hotel and driven in an air-conditioned bus to the national park. Afterward, you will be taken into the historical city of Liberia for a hearty lunch and given an opportunity to shop for souvenirs before being returned to your hotel. This tour includes a bilingual guide, park entrance fee, lunch, drink, shopping and transportation from Rincon de la Vieja as well as the beach areas of: Flamingo, Tamarindo, Papagayo and Playa Grande. One way transportation from your hotel to the park can take from 1 to 2.5 hours depending on where you are staying. The total time of the tour including hiking, lunch, shopping and round trip transportation can take from 6.5 to 8.5 hours. Please come prepared to experience very warm weather with lightweight protective clothing and comfortable enclosed walking shoes for hiking. Today’s sailing adventure aboard a beautiful 46 foot catamaran called Panache, will cruise for approximately an hour before dropping anchor at a deserted beach where you can enjoy a variety of recreational activities. Horseback Riding Adventure - Santa Rosa Horse Tours

This is a private tour, available from November through the first week of March, the Pacific Green Turtle Nesting tour is taken at night during the nesting season when the female turtles leave the Pacific Ocean and lay their eggs in the soft sand on the beach. You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to a protected area just the North of Playa Grande located 30 to 60 minutes away depending your hotel location. You guide will lead you to the nesting area. Due to the sensitivity of these endangered egg laying turtles, cameras are not allowed at this event. The tour includes transportation from the Flamingo, Conchal and Tamarindo, a naturalist guide, and bottled water. Combined time of tour and round trip transportation can take from 4 – 5 hours depending on where you are staying. Whitewater Rafting Rio Tenorio

Today is a fun filled day of adventure! The Rio Tenorio is one of the most scenic whitewater rafting rivers in Costa Rica. Your tour starts with an introduction to rafting and a brief safety lesson. You will then be on your way crashing and splashing through class III and IV rapids. The Rio Tenorio is an excellent river for those who have whitewater rafting experience or are in strong physical condition. This tour provides transportation from Tamarindo, Playa Grande, Jobo, Riu and the Flamingo and Papagayo areas. PRIVATE Snorkeling Boat Tour

Standup Paddle Boarding at Flamingo

Today you will go on a private 3 hour guided snorkeling trip by boat visiting sites that have the clearest visibility on the day of your visit. This tour is limited to only 7 people giving each participant individualized attention. You’ll be picked up from your hotel and driven to the tour office where you will meet your boat captain and crew. You will be taken to the best snorkeling sites available which may include nearby islands, beaches, and rocky outcroppings. Instructions will be given that can accommodate even a first-time snorkeler. Your guide will lead you through areas home to many aquatic species which will be pointed out and identified. After about 45 minutes you will return to the boat to enjoy cold water and fresh fruit drink refreshments. You are welcome to bring aboard your own snacks. Your captain will then head over to other snorkeling sites. Your crew will be happy to bring aboard fishing gear for your use. You can choose to go on a morning or afternoon tour. Often a morning tour is preferable during rainy season. The afternoon tour can be timed to watch the sunset from the boat. This tour includes a licensed boat captain, bilingual snorkeling guide, fins, mask, life vest, cold water, fruit drinks, as well as transport from local Tamarindo hotels, the Flamingo Beach Resort or the Westin Playa Conchal. One-way transport from your hotel can take from 15 to 30 minutes to the tour headquarters. Total time of tour with transportation is usually between 3.5 and 4 hours. Water shoes, towel, hat, sunglasses, sunblock, and a protected camera are recommended. You may want to have dry clothing to change into for the ride back to your hotel.

Standup paddle boarding, aka SUP, is one of the coolest new sports on the hot beaches of Guanacaste! The tour starts off with a pickup at your local area hotel and then you will be brought to the Flamingo Marina to start your adventure. Your bilingual guide will teach you the basics if you are not experienced and then you will be off. The concept of standup paddle boarding is to stand on a specialized, stable and oversized surf board and paddle through relatively calm waters. Paddle boarders have been known to travel several miles out, but todays tour will not be quite as rigorous. After leaving the Flamingo Marina, your guide will lead you to a hidden beach on the point. You will have a little time to swim or explore. After a little while you will make your way back to the marina for the take out. After the tour you will be brought back to your local area hotel. The standup paddle boarding tour is available for all levels of experience and of course for first timers as well. This is a great way to take in the scenic Flamingo coastline and get a little exercise while you are at it. Of course, the location of the tour is subject to change for a wide range of reasons which are out of our control. Playa Conchal is the most frequent substitute location. This fun filled half day tour usually lasts around three to four hours including transportation and includes transportation, guide, equipment, water, and fruits.

Safari Float Tour on Corobici River

Today you will go on the Safari Float Tour on the Rio Corobici. This is a great tour for those that want the fun of whitewater rafting without the rapids. The safari float is done on a rafting boat, but at a much slower pace on a gently rolling river which creates a fun way to observe wildlife along the river edge. Please inform us if you weigh over 200 pounds as restrictions may apply. This 6 hour tour includes transportation, equipment, guide, and lunch. Note that drive times to the tour from El Jobo can be considerable (disregard of staying in other areas).

Congo Trails Congo Park

Congo Trails Congo Park is a small animal sanctuary featuring rescued monkeys and birds. In addition there is a serpentarium as well as a children’s petting zoo with various farm animals and rabbits. Transportation and admission to the sanctuary are included with this tour. One way transportation can take up to one hour depending on the location of your lodging.

Barra Honda Cave Spelunking

Today you will go Cave Spelunking at Barra Honda National Park. A bilingual guide will lead you on a hike through the park’s unique tropical dry forest environment until you reach the caves. You will then descend into the limestone caverns and explore many interesting rock formations. This 6 hour tour includes transportation, guide, park entrance, lunch, and drinks.

Tubing at the Rio Celeste

Tubing at Rio Celeste in Costa Rica offers an exhilarating and unique adventure amid the breathtaking natural beauty of the country. Rio Celeste, known for its striking blue color, is a stunning river flowing through the lush rainforests of Tenorio Volcano National Park an on through the rural countryside. During the tubing experience, visitors get to ride along the gentle currents of the river while surrounded by the rich biodiversity of the tropical rainforest. The journey takes you through tranquil sections of the river, allowing you to soak in the mesmerizing scenery and spot various wildlife species, including tropical birds and monkeys. As you venture downstream, the river's turquoise waters reveal its true magic, reflecting the vibrant colors of the surrounding flora. Tubing at Rio Celeste is a thrilling way to connect with nature and immerse yourself in the unique landscapes that make Costa Rica a truly exceptional destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Please note that the watercolor may be diluted or even tan in color following heavy rains, so the magical blue colors are not guaranteed. Also note that this tour may take up to an hour and a half of driving in each direction, though often less, depending on the location of your hotel. Sportfishing 27 Foot Dusky Outcast - Full Day

The Rio Celeste Waterfall tour is a moderate hike to see how two mineral rich rivers combine to create a celestial blue waterfall in the midst of a tropical rainforest. It is approximately 1.75 miles of often uphill hiking and can be muddy. At the waterfalls there is a staircase of a couple of hundred steps leading down to the falls and back up again to the trail. Lunch at a local restaurant is included after the hike. Total time of this tour including lunch and round trip transportation takes approximately 6.5 to 8 hours long depending on the location of your hotel. The tour includes, transportation, guide, national park entrance fee, and lunch. Transportation is included from hotels in Tamarindo, the Flamingo area, the Papagayo area, Jobo and Playa Grande and can take between 1.5 to 2.5 hours each way to get to the National Park. Please wear hiking clothes and enclosed hiking shoes. It is recommended to bring rain gear, personal water bottle and bug repellent. The waterfalls are best seen during the dryer months of January through May although is available year round and visible on any clear day. You cannot swim beneath the waterfall or in the national park.

Today you will learn how to scuba dive while visiting the beautiful waters in Guanacaste province. You’ll be picked up from your hotel and taken to the dive center where you will be taught scuba diving basics by a professional scuba diving instructor. Next you will practice using the tanks, masks and fins while swimming in a pool. Once you have mastered the technique you will go by dive boat out to one or more diving sites to do your first ocean dives. You will not receive a PADI certification as a result of this tour but it may leave you hungry for more and even influence you to become PADI certified so that you can go on longer dives. When you return to land you’ll change into your dry clothes before being driven back to your hotel. Surf Lesson - PRIVATE

Today you will be picked up and taken to the beach in Tamarindo for a 2 hour private surf lesson by a professional surf instructor. If your hotel is in Tamarindo, clients are often picked up on an ATV, so other arrangements would need to be made if you would prefer to be picked up in a regular vehicle. Included in this fun filled tour is a professional surf instructor, surf board, bottled water and transportation from Flamingo, Tamarindo and JW Marriot Guanacaste. Depending on your pick-up location, one way transportation from your hotel to the beach can take between 15 and 45 minutes. The total time of this tour including round trip transportation and the surf lesson takes between 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Please bring sun protection, towel, bathing suit, and rash guard (water shirt).
