PRIVATE Pacific Green Turtle Nesting Tour at Night

This is a private tour, available from November through the first week of March, the Pacific Green Turtle Nesting tour is taken at night during the nesting season when the female turtles leave the Pacific Ocean and lay their eggs in the soft sand on the beach. You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to a protected area just the North of Playa Grande located 30 to 60 minutes away depending your hotel location. You guide will lead you to the nesting area. Due to the sensitivity of these endangered egg laying turtles, cameras are not allowed at this event. The tour includes transportation from the Flamingo, Conchal and Tamarindo, a naturalist guide, and bottled water. Combined time of tour and round trip transportation can take from 4 – 5 hours depending on where you are staying. Today you will go on a private 3 hour guided snorkeling trip by boat visiting sites that have the clearest visibility on the day of your visit. This tour is limited to only 7 people giving each participant individualized attention. You’ll be picked up from your hotel and driven to the tour office where you will meet your boat captain and crew. You will be taken to the best snorkeling sites available which may include nearby islands, beaches, and rocky outcroppings. Instructions will be given that can accommodate even a first-time snorkeler. Your guide will lead you through areas home to many aquatic species which will be pointed out and identified. After about 45 minutes you will return to the boat to enjoy cold water and fresh fruit drink refreshments. You are welcome to bring aboard your own snacks. Your captain will then head over to other snorkeling sites. Your crew will be happy to bring aboard fishing gear for your use. You can choose to go on a morning or afternoon tour. Often a morning tour is preferable during rainy season. The afternoon tour can be timed to watch the sunset from the boat. This tour includes a licensed boat captain, bilingual snorkeling guide, fins, mask, life vest, cold water, fruit drinks, as well as transport from local Tamarindo hotels, the Flamingo Beach Resort or the Westin Playa Conchal. One-way transport from your hotel can take from 15 to 30 minutes to the tour headquarters. Total time of tour with transportation is usually between 3.5 and 4 hours. Water shoes, towel, hat, sunglasses, sunblock, and a protected camera are recommended. You may want to have dry clothing to change into for the ride back to your hotel.

Rio Celeste and Tenorio National Park - Jacamar

The Rio Celeste Waterfall tour is a moderate hike to see how two mineral rich rivers combine to create a celestial blue waterfall in the midst of a tropical rainforest. It is approximately 1.75 miles of often uphill hiking and can be muddy. At the waterfalls there is a staircase of a couple of hundred steps leading down to the falls and back up again to the trail. Lunch at a local restaurant is included after the hike. Total time of this tour including lunch and round trip transportation takes approximately 6.5 to 8 hours long depending on the location of your hotel. The tour includes, transportation, guide, national park entrance fee, and lunch. Transportation is included from hotels in Tamarindo, the Flamingo area, the Papagayo area, Jobo and Playa Grande and can take between 1.5 to 2.5 hours each way to get to the National Park. Please wear hiking clothes and enclosed hiking shoes. It is recommended to bring rain gear, personal water bottle and bug repellent. The waterfalls are best seen during the dryer months of January through May although is available year round and visible on any clear day.
