Hotel Arco Iris

Good to Know

Hotel Arco Iris keeps Tamarindo’s beach, dining and nightlife within easy reach while giving you a tropical garden and pool to return to. This affordable boutique hotel sits a few blocks from Playa Tamarindo. Some rooms have a balcony or terrace with garden or pool views.

A garden retreat a few blocks from Tamarindo Beach

A few blocks from Playa Tamarindo, Hotel Arco Iris gives you an inviting place to step away from the beach town’s bustle. Tropical gardens surround the outdoor pool, and colorful rooms with local artwork carry a little of that relaxed character indoors. You can spend the day out in Tamarindo and keep a quieter interlude for the hotel.

The accommodation mixes rustic and contemporary touches. Some rooms have balconies or terraces looking toward the gardens or pool, so the room choice can shape how you enjoy your downtime. A lounge area adds another place to open a book or enjoy a drink before deciding where to go for dinner. The Bungalow’s terrace and hammock create a different downtime option from Deluxe accommodation; compare the individual room features when choosing.

Let Tamarindo lead the day

Tamarindo’s restaurants, shops and nightlife are close at hand, with local Costa Rican cooking and international menus to explore. Staff can help with recommendations and reservations, giving you a starting point without making every evening follow the same plan.

Surf lessons and equipment rentals can be arranged for time on Tamarindo’s waves. Paddleboarding, snorkeling and fishing provide other nearby possibilities. Choose Arco Iris for an affordable boutique stay that lets the town and beach lead your days, with a garden swim waiting when you return.

What makes Arco Iris a Tamarindo choice

  • A few blocks separate the hotel from Playa Tamarindo, putting beach days within easy reach while keeping the stay in town rather than directly on the sand.
  • The garden-ringed pool and lounge give you somewhere to slow down between Tamarindo’s restaurants, shops and nightlife.
  • Colorful rooms, local artwork and a blend of rustic and contemporary design make this an affordable boutique stay with a personality of its own.
  • Some rooms have garden- or pool-facing balconies or terraces; choose the category carefully if outdoor sitting space matters to you.
  • Staff can help with dining recommendations and reservations, making it easier to explore both Costa Rican and international menus.
  • Surf lessons and equipment rentals can be arranged, with nearby paddleboarding, snorkeling and fishing adding other ways to enjoy the coast.
  • A bungalow’s terrace and hammock provide a different downtime option from a Deluxe room. Compare the current room details rather than assuming the same outdoor features throughout.

Good location for beach access, shopping, and restaurants. The room felt a bit cramped but was adequate. Breakfast to order was good. Please note that the hotel no longer has a restaurant.

Our room was spacious, with high ceilings and tiles floors. The refrigerator contained minibar items, but there was still room for our food and beverages. The complimentary breakfasts were good, but not as good as Hotel Conchal. It appears that the hotel pays/subcontracts a couple of women to prepare it, and there was no variety from day-to-day. We did not eats dinner in the restaurant, but my wife had a dessert that was good. Francisco was very helpful, but the staff wasn't as warm and welcoming as the Hotel Conchal. The Iris is very convenient to a bank, grocery store and laundry service. We found several good restaurants in Tamarindo.

Although the restaurant had great reviews we didn't find it that great....had to pay cash....only open in the evening.....no bar during the day. We enjoyed other restaurants down the road much more. Our room was quite small and occasionally we would have issues with water pressure and the A/C. On a positive note, the owner made his presence known and was quite a friendly guy.

We loved Hotel Arco Iris and would definitely return to stay here again. We loved that it was a little farther away from the coastline so it was quieter and hidden from the chaos of Tamarindo. The staff were very kind and the owner was wonderful. Breakfast was great and all of the staff were very friendly.
