The journey to Pacuare Lodge is part of the experience: river rapids or a rugged, arranged 4x4 approach lead into a rainforest setting overlooking the Pacuare River. For travelers who want their accommodation to bring them closer to a remote landscape, the lodge offers a comfortable place to settle into it.

The surrounding Pacuare Protected Zone connects with a network of protected areas covering more than 1.2 million acres. Rainforest wildlife adds to the fascination of the protected landscape, while forest exploration and encounters with local culture give a stay here depth beyond the scenery. Staff come from local communities, and meals combine Costa Rican and other culinary influences with fresh ingredients.

There is also time simply to enjoy the lodge. Its 65-foot lap pool is fed by mountain spring water and treated with natural salts, with a lounge area and pool bar nearby. A restaurant, bar, yoga platform and massage services offer different ways to spend the hours between excursions. Pack for the river transfer

Remember that all luggage, food, and supplies are transported by an oarboat, so there are restrictions regarding what you can bring and how you pack it. The per person baggage allowance for the lodge is a maximum of 25 pounds, height 22in, width 22in, length 16 in. The lodge requests that you pack what you will be bringing with you separately before you are picked up to go to the lodge. Items that are not being brought to the lodge can be stored at their padlocked warehouse in Siquirres but doing so is at the guest's discretion. Pacuare Lodge and Pacific Trade Winds do not accept responsibility for any losses or damages.
