PRIVATE Arenal Mistico Hanging Bridges Guided Canopy Rainforest Hike

Tour Overview & Private Experience
Embark on an exclusive, half-day private adventure at the Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park, located within the lush rainforest near the majestic Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal. This private tour offers an intimate and personalized way to explore the rainforest canopy and floor across a spectacular loop of terrestrial trails and 12 distinct suspension bridges, which vary in height and length. With a private bilingual naturalist guide dedicated solely to your group, you will enjoy a customized pacing that maximizes comfort and provides a deeper, uninterrupted learning experience about the natural history of the Arenal Volcano region.
Wildlife & Ecosystem Highlights
Set on the protective fringe of the Arenal Volcano National Park, this rich sanctuary is home to a diverse array of biodiversity. With the undivided attention of your private guide and their professional spotting equipment, you will have an optimized opportunity to spot exotic wildlife such as sloths, toucans, monkeys, armadillos, deer, raccoons, and coatis. While sightings of the region's elusive wild felines—including pumas, ocelots, and margays—are uncommon, your guide will expertly track signs of their presence throughout the ecosystem. On clear days, the tour also features a spectacular, unobstructed panoramic view of the Arenal Volcano from one of the primary bridges.
Logistics, Terrain, & Duration
This comprehensive, all-inclusive private experience is expected to last approximately four hours from start to finish, which includes round-trip transportation from your hotel to the park. The excursion requires hiking a few kilometers over moderate terrain, making it ideal for guests with a moderate level of physical fitness and a sense of adventure. Because this is a private tour, the exact duration and rhythm of the hike can be flexibly adapted to your group's specific needs, mobility levels, or photographic interests.
Mandatory Park Policies & Environmental Regulations
To preserve the sanctuary’s pristine environment and ensure guest safety, strict park rules are enforced on the trail. For safety reasons, open sandals or flip-flops are strictly prohibited; all guests must wear mandatory enclosed shoes. Additionally, to protect the natural habitat from disruption, running or jumping on the bridges is forbidden, food consumption is not allowed on the trails, and the use of external radios, speakers, or loud devices is strictly banned.
Zero-Plastic & Bag Strict Restrictions
In alignment with strict conservation initiatives, the park maintains a zero-plastic policy. Single-use plastic water bottles are completely banned on the trail. No disposable water bottles will be provided; instead, guests must bring their own reusable bottles to utilize the park's refrigerated water-refill stations. Furthermore, general bags and backpacks are not permitted on the trails. Exceptions are granted only for essential items such as medication or baby care, and these approved bags will undergo a brief compliance check at the entrance. Secure on-site lockers are available for a fee of $1 to safely store your personal belongings during your trek.
