Discover the natural beauty of the Arenal region with an unforgettable horseback riding adventure to the spectacular La Fortuna Waterfall. This experience is the perfect combination of nature, culture, adventure, and relaxation, ideal for travelers wanting to explore the rainforest in a unique and authentic way.

Your journey begins with a scenic horseback ride through lush tropical landscapes, open countryside, rainforest trails, and beautiful natural surroundings near Arenal Volcano. Along the route, your professional bilingual guide will share information about the local flora, fauna, and culture while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for riders of all skill levels.

After the horseback ride, continue on foot through rainforest trails leading to the impressive La Fortuna Waterfall, one of Costa Rica’s most famous natural attractions. Surrounded by dense jungle and dramatic canyon walls, the waterfall plunges approximately 70 meters (230 feet) into crystal-clear waters below. Guests will have time to admire the scenery, take photos, relax in nature, or enjoy a refreshing swim in the river pools beneath the waterfall.

Following the hike and waterfall visit, guests will enjoy a delicious fresh tropical fruit snack surrounded by the peaceful rainforest atmosphere before horseback riding back to the starting point. This relaxing break allows travelers to recharge while enjoying the natural beauty of the area.

The experience also includes a visit to a traditional Maleku cultural village, where visitors can learn about one of Costa Rica’s indigenous communities and their customs, traditions, and artisan heritage.

This tour is recommended for families, couples, small groups, and adventure travelers seeking a relaxing yet active outdoor experience in La Fortuna. No previous horseback riding experience is necessary, and horses are selected according to each participant’s experience level.

IMPORTANT: There is a steep 200-meter hike down and back up from the base of the falls. Visitors should be physically fit and ready for a challenge. This hike is similar to the one down to La Fortuna Waterfalls at the official entrance.  Note: Swimming in the waterfall is subject to weather conditions.
