As the sun sets over the Arenal Volcano, a completely different world awakens just twenty minutes outside of town. This immersive night walk invites you to leave the city lights behind and step into the living, breathing biodiversity of the rainforest after dark. While the jungle may seem quiet by day, nightfall brings a symphony of sounds and a flurry of activity that few travelers get to witness.

Your journey takes place on a private, protected reserve designed specifically for safe nocturnal exploration. Led by a passionate naturalist guide, you will traverse a flat, easy-to-navigate 800-meter trail. The night hike was one of the highlights of the trip. We saw everything I had hoped for. While wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, we were fortunate that they all showed up. We saw a snake, a sleeping sloth, and several frogs, making the experience even more memorable.

David, our guide, was excellent. Transportation was different, as we transferred mid-trip to another van, but it was easy and only slightly confusing.
