Good to Know

Embark on the Sky Walk Guided Hanging Bridges Tour, an immersive half-day journey through the Arenal rainforest. Traverse a 3.6-kilometer trail, moving from the forest floor to the canopy via five suspension bridges, all while an expert naturalist guide highlights diverse wildlife and shares ecological insights. This experience includes round-trip transportation from your La Fortuna area hotel. Guests must wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and present valid age verification for children upon park entry.

The Sky Walk and Hanging Bridges Tour is an amazing way to observe the rainforest from both ground level and right in the tree tops. Imagine hiking through the jungle and canopy in search of exotic wildlife!

You will be picked up from your La Fortuna area hotel and be transported to the Sky Adventures Park. Along the way from most hotels you will go around the iconic Arenal Volcano which can be an incredible view on clear days.

When you arrive at the park you will be paired with a bilingual naturalist guide. Your guide will lead the way through the jungle trails and bridges in search of wildlife. Along the way you will also be told about the natural history of the area.

There are many species of wildlife in the forest around the area of the Sky Walk. Howler monkeys, spider monkeys, three toed sloths, tayras, agoutis, oppossums, basilisks, iguanas, snakes, frogs and more all can be found in the area. Of course, when going on a canopy tour, you will see birds as well. Toucans, toucannettes, trogons, hummingbirds, vultures, motmots and many more have been identified in the area. With a little cooperation from Mother Nature your guide will point some of them out.

The tour will take you through 2.2 miles of groomed trails of varying terrain. There are five suspension bridges along the way of varying lengths. These bridges will allow you to walk through the canopy treetops where 90 percent of the wildlife of the rainforest lives. You will also be able to see two waterfalls from designated platforms.

After the tour a transfer will be provided back to your hotel. Including round trip transportation the tour is expected to last around four hours though this is subject to change. Your tour include transportation, park entrance and guide. Open sandals or shoes are NOT permitted, make sure you bring sturdy closed toe shoes.

Important: Guests must present a valid document or photo verifying the age of children upon entering the park.

Loved this tour. The guide was great. I loved that he took into consideration that my mother could not keep up with the group and he would allow her time to rest and catch up. He never pushed us to hurry. We did not see lots of wild life but it was just beautiful to walk around.

Should emphasise that this tour is only for very fit people! Very strenuous climb back up from the valley. Guide was excellent and very informative.
