Costa Rica is known as one of the best countries to go rafting in the world because of the abundance of natural rivers that run throughout the country. Luckily, these rivers come in all sizes and intensity levels, making way for a variety of different activities.
One of the newest and most fun river tours in Costa Rica is River Tubing. You’ll get your own inflatable tube (and license to get wet) to float your way down the famous Buru River - a river famous for its calmer rapids and teeming wildlife- which feeds into the Pacific Ocean.
You’ll be floating down easy-going rapids in an individual inflatable tube, guided by a gentle pull of the current and of course your experienced tubing guide.
Your guide, a river enthusiast and wildlife guru will get you revved up for your tour with tubing instructions and safety tips. You will receive lifejackets, helmets and your tubes as you hop into the refreshing river to prepare for the adventure that lies ahead. During your trip, your guide will share a wealth of knowledge about the wildlife in Costa Rica and point out any birds, monkeys or other creatures you may find along the way.
This part of the river is calm and relaxing with many moments of excitement. Your inflatable tube will come in handy helping you to navigate the river, absorbing the impact when you bounce off of rocks and glide down easy rapids. The cool river water is very refreshing so feel free to slide into the water and go for a swim.
If you are hesitant to ride solo, you are welcome to team up with the guide and enjoy the river in a larger raft.
Half way through your tour, you will all dock your tubes at the side of the river and your guide will prepare a delicious picnic lunch and refreshments. This is where you can go for a swim or just embrace the beauty and pulsing sounds of the jungle that surrounds you.
On this half-day tour, please bring along bathing suit, towel, sunblock, and insect repellent. The company may use a different river due to certain weather conditions.
