Dominical Tours
Your hammock awaits at this rustic central Pacific surf destination. Considered more like “old” Costa Rica with unpaved roads and family owned restaurants, Dominical offers the chance of a lifetime to watch migrating humpback whales dance and swim during mating season. For snorkeling or scuba diving you’ll want to explore the beautiful underwater world of a protected coral reef surrounding Cano Island. For boaters, you will find kayaking, catamaran tours, riverboat safaris, and sport fishing trips are at your port of call. Nearby Manuel Antonio and Corcovado National Park offer hiking tours through lush jungles as well as guided birding adventures. The experienced local surfers are ready and waiting to teach you how to hang ten, an exciting opportunity at any age. After a day of adventure, you’ll return to this quiet, rural beach town to watch the sunset from your private bungalow.

Once on the water, expert guides and dedicated safety kayakers will lead you through a dynamic progression of Class II, III, and occasionally IV rapids, offering a ride that is exciting enough for adrenaline junkies yet accessible for fit first-timers and children ages 8 and up. Between the pulse-pounding sets, you’ll drift through a birdwatcher’s paradise—keeping eyes peeled for toucans, ospreys, and kingfishers—and stop to swim in crystal-clear pools or explore hidden waterfalls. This all-inclusive day covers round-trip transportation (varying from 15 minutes to 1.5 hours from Manuel Antonio), professional equipment, breakfast, lunch, and snacks, making it the ultimate introduction to Costa Rica's world-class rivers.
Damas Island Riverboat Wildlife Safari in the Mangroves

Drift into the heart of a mystical wetland sanctuary on the Damas Island Riverboat Safari, a gentle yet wild journey through one of Costa Rica’s most diverse ecosystems! As you glide silently through the emerald mangrove canals, you’ll have a front-row seat to a thriving wildlife theatre: keep your eyes peeled for the prehistoric silhouettes of crocodiles and caimans basking on the banks, while the canopy above teems with playful White-faced Capuchin monkeys, sleepy sloths, and elusive silky anteaters. This protected refuge is also a paradise for birdwatchers, offering chances to spot majestic Herons, Toucans, and vibrant Roseate Spoonbills in their natural habitat. This complete nature expedition includes round-trip transportation, an expert bilingual guide, and a delicious meal; please note that because this unique ecosystem is governed by the rhythm of the ocean, the tour start time and meal service change daily based on the tides, so we will confirm your exact schedule once your booking date is set.
Manuel Antonio National Park With a Naturalist Guide

Transform your visit to Manuel Antonio National Park into an unforgettable wildlife treasure hunt with this immersive guided hiking expedition! While the unassisted eye might miss the magic, your expert naturalist guide uses a high-powered spotting scope and years of experience to reveal the camouflage masters of the rainforest—bringing you face-to-face with three-toed sloths, playful troops of monkeys, dazzling tropical birds, and exotic reptiles hiding high in the canopy. This educational journey winds through diverse ecosystems and culminates at the park’s pristine, world-famous beaches, offering a perfect blend of active discovery and seaside relaxation. We handle all the logistics, including entrance fees and round-trip transportation (varying 15 minutes to 1.5 hours), and while we work hard to streamline your entry during peak season wait times, please remember that strict conservation efforts prohibit outside food and single-use plastics—so pack a reusable bottle for the refill stations, grab a snack at the internal kiosk, and get ready to see the jungle like a true insider!
Cano Island Biological Reserve & Snorkeling Experience

Discover the underwater jewel of Costa Rica on this expedition to the Caño Island Biological Reserve, home to the country's most vibrant coral reefs and pristine marine ecosystems! Your adventure launches from Punta Uvita Beach for an exciting 1.5-hour open-ocean voyage where—depending on the season—you may be flanked by migrating whales or playful dolphins before you jump in to snorkel among schools of tropical fish in the crystal-clear water. This tour includes your guide, lunch, and high-quality equipment, with ground transfers taking up to an hour (extra fees apply for pickups in Dominical and Manuel Antonio). Crucial Advisory: This adventure involves a long ride in a small boat across open, often choppy seas where constant movement is inevitable; if you are prone to motion sickness or have no experience with open ocean travel, please consider your participation carefully before booking, as the ride can be intense.
Damas Island Kayaking Safari in the Mangroves With a Guide

Paddle your way through a true mangrove safari on the Damas Island Kayaking expedition, an immersive adventure teeming with wildlife at every turn! You’ll glide past riverbanks lined with caimans and crocodiles while the mangroves above buzz with playful capuchin monkeys, elusive silky anteaters, lazy sloths, and a spectacular array of birds like herons, kingfishers, and roseate spoonbills. This is an active, open-seat kayaking experience, so a reasonable fitness level and some paddling familiarity are recommended to navigate the waters comfortably. Children 7 and older are invited to join the fun (often pairing with an adult in a double kayak), and the tour includes round-trip transportation, an expert bilingual guide, and a delicious meal. Please keep in mind that this nature-first tour operates strictly around the ocean tides to ensure the best wildlife viewing, so exact pickup times and logistics will be confirmed when you book.
Whale and Dolphin Watching Marino Ballena National Park - Dolphin Tours

Today you’ll go on an exciting whale and dolphin watching expedition in the vast protected waters of Marino Ballena National Park. For this tour, transportation from your hotel in Uviva, Dominical, and Ojochal is included. If you have a rental car, you can arrive at the Dolphin Tours Office in Uvita at 8:15 a.m.. Once the excursion began, you’ll cruise the open waters passing interesting landmarks searching for whales and dolphins while observing other available wildlife such as shorebirds and sea turtles that you may encounter. Humpback whales are typically seen while migrating to these local breeding grounds from December to March and again between mid-July to late October although some species live in these waters year round. There is no guarantee you will see a whale, but the chances are high especially during these months. Cold water and a fresh fruit snack will be provided. Sometimes, if weather permits, you may be able to snorkel for a little while, though this is not guaranteed. This tour includes park entrance, a chartered boat, bilingual guide, safety gear, bottled water and fruit snack. It can take between 15 and 45 minutes to get from your hotel to the Dolphin Tours office depending on your hotel’s location and traffic. The time of boat tour typically takes from 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Please wear sun-protective clothing, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen and bring binoculars, a bathing suit, and a camera. You won’t want to miss trying to take a selfie with a whale!
Combo Tour Snorkeling, Caves, and Whale Watching

Embark on a raw and authentic marine adventure aboard a powerful panga boat, the perfect vessel to navigate the open Pacific and get you close to nature’s giants. You’ll scout the coastline for majestic Humpback Whales—with peak activity from mid-July through October and a second season from late December through March—along with resident bottlenose dolphins often spotted playing in the wake. If you are traveling during the dry season (December through April), you will anchor at the iconic "Whale Tail" in Marino Ballena National Park for a snorkeling session; please note that for the rest of the year, this remains a dedicated wildlife cruise as snorkeling is not available. The adventure also includes a scenic cruise past the dramatic Ventanas sea caves, offering spectacular photo opportunities of the rugged rock formations. Please be aware that this is an open-ocean experience on a small boat that moves constantly with the swells—while thrilling, we strongly advise guests prone to seasickness to consider this carefully before booking, as the motion is continuous. (Note: An extra transport fee applies for guests staying in Dominical or Manuel Antonio).
Corcovado National Park Guided Rainforest Adventure

Immerse yourself in the untamed beauty of the "most biologically intense place on Earth" on this full-day expedition to Corcovado National Park, a must-do for true nature lovers. Your adventure begins with a rugged and scenic 3-hour round-trip boat ride across the open Pacific, whisking you to the remote shores of this pristine reserve where the jungle meets the sea. Once on land, an expert naturalist guide will lead you on a trek through ancient forests and coastal trails, offering the chance to spot rare wildlife like tapirs, scarlet macaws, and all four of Costa Rica's monkey species. The tour includes a box lunch and bottled water to keep you fueled for the journey. However, because this expedition relies on small boats navigating open ocean swells, the ride is dynamic and constantly moving; we advise those prone to motion sickness to reconsider this specific tour, as the movement is continuous and medication can be ineffective against the conditions. (Note: An extra transport fee applies for guests staying in the Dominical and Manuel Antonio areas).

The true highlight of this tour is the paddling experience and the breathtaking views—whether you are navigating the waves or exploring peaceful mangroves—though there is a (seasonal) scheduled stop to cool off with a refreshing swim or a casual snorkel. Snorkeling may not take place if conditions are not met, and should not be the purpose of booking this tour, even in the driest seasons. This fun-filled half-day tour includes a professional guide, park entrance fees, snacks, and transportation, with pickup times varying by location.
Nauyaca Waterfalls and Salto del Diamante

Discover the majesty of the world-renowned Nauyaca Waterfalls on this unforgettable day trip! Beneath the surface, you’ll encounter an abundance of marine life, including schools of snapper, jacks, and barracuda, alongside white-tip reef sharks, majestic rays, and sea turtles. This full-day excursion is exclusively for certified divers and includes professional guides, equipment, park fees, lunch, and refreshments; please note that availability is limited and an extra transportation fee applies for guests staying in the Dominical or Manuel Antonio areas.
