Golf at La Iguana Golf Course

This is an opportunity to challenge yourself to a round of golf on a designer course surrounded by rain forest with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. The 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course was designed by Ted Robinson, Jr. bringing you into the natural landscape as you enjoy a relaxing game of golf. Your gallery includes local wildlife such as monkeys and colorful macaws with the sparkling ocean just beyond.

You will start your golfing experience at La Iguana Golf Course located in Playa Herradura at the Los Suenos resort. You can choose to begin with an early tee-time, or practice your long and short games on the expansive driving range. You might enjoy spending some quality time on the putting greens before you tee off. PGA qualified golf professionals will be at your service as well as fore caddies to retrieve golf balls lost in the lush rough. These guides are also naturalists knowledgeable about the tropical plant life of the surrounding rainforest and its animal inhabitants.

The course has an alluring landscape with nearly 4 miles of indigenous plants, including a wide variety of orchids. The front nine descends into the canopy of the rainforest along a tight river basin. Ancient trees, home to hundreds of species of birds, howler monkeys, and the occasional sloth, cover part of this landscape. Perfectly manicured fairways are lined with peanut grass. All of this makes a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere for an unforgettable golfing experience regardless of your skill level.

This championship golf course welcomes golfers of all ages. The state-of-the-art facility is fully stocked with rental equipment to suit anyone’s needs. All golf carts are equipped with a GPS navigation system that allows you to live score, get a brief description on every hole, and see your yardage. You are welcomed to bring your own clubs, shoes, gloves, and caddy.

If you are a light packer, the Pro Shop will have TaylorMade clubs available. If you need to purchase additional golf balls, the resort offers Nike, TaylorMade, and Titleist brands. Adidas golf shoes are available to rent, as well.

This golf package includes green fees for 18 holes, golf cart, clubs with 6 balls, guide and bottled water. Tee-time will be arranged at booking.

You’ll likely want to wear sunglasses, sunscreen, a cap and insect repellent. Consider bringing your camera so you can share this experience with all your golfing buddies back home. The entire event is designed to assist you in achieving your golfing goals while relaxing in a uniquely beautiful tropical setting.
