Borinquen Adventure Day & Hot Springs

This full day awesome adventure allows you to experience the remote “real” Costa Rica via horseback and zip lines over and through jungle, waterfalls, mountains, plains, canyons and ranches before relaxing in natural hot spring pools and mud baths. It doesn’t get much better than this!

To begin, you will be picked up from your lodging and transported into a magical forest with hidden waterfalls where you can disconnect from modern life and indulge in the rhythms of a totally natural environment. You’ll arrive at a beautiful rustic resort where your day of exciting adventures await.

Greeted by the friendly staff, you’ll meet your guide who will take you to the corral, part of the working farm that includes the Borinquen resort. Here you’ll be matched with a good natured, well cared for horse based on your ability level and size. These horses are so well trained, if you drop the reins they will simple take you along the trails whether you guide them or not!

You will ride up into the mountains and through the forest where you’ll be surrounded by exotic sounds of birds and insects. You may even encounter a Toucan or family of monkeys; each day is different so it’s impossible to predict, but your local naturalist guide will be sure to point out to you whatever animal life may be available on the day that you are there.

You’ll discover a hidden waterfall in this serene woodland paradise where you may feel you have fallen into a fantastic daydream. If you feel like getting wet you can slide down a natural waterslide! Riding out onto the mountain top and over the plains you’ll see spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. This approximate two hour ride will bring you to the first platform in the jungle canopy where you will dismount and prepare for your exciting zip line adventure.

Your professional guides will go over the safety instructions and explain how everything works in detail. You will be fitted with a harness that will support you as you are hooked onto the steel cables. After a few zips you can relax and start to enjoy the amazing scenery from way up in the air looking down on the breathtaking views below. The platforms are all high up in the trees enabling you to see the natural beauty all around you including cascading waterfalls. At each platform a guide will assist your smooth arrival and hook you onto the next zip line. There are about 10 cables that will send you soaring over the tree tops like a bird.

Once you are comfortable with the zip lining technique your guides will show you tricks you can do to enhance your experience, like zip upside down or place the hook at the back of your harness so you can fly horizontally hands free like Superman! You’re sure to get an adrenaline rush as you discover new ways of mastering the art of flying through the air!

After you are back on terra firma you’ll be ready to enjoy a delicious Costa Rican hot lunch. Then it’s off to relax and rejuvenate in pools of hot springs fed from the natural flow of volcanic waters. In addition there are pots of volcanic mud you can use to take a mud bath!

This fun filled full day adventure includes: round trip air conditioned transportation, professional guides, horses, safety equipment, lunch, water and natural drinks.
