Guided Tree Planting Tour - Family-Student

This is a rewarding tour designed for students, families, and the eco-friendly tourist to help our planet through reforestation. Planting a tree can have far-reaching effects! It not only helps Costa Rica reach its goal of becoming carbon neutral but also helps build a future of clean air for the earth’s inhabitants. This is a hands-on adventure that encourages learning about conservation through a memorable educational experience.

The tour begins at Dave and Dave’s Nature Park. You will meet with one of the owners who will explain the importance of reforestation. Then your host will provide you with a small tree before escorting you to the planting site where you can plant a tree. This father/son team has worked hard to reforest an abandoned Palm oil plantation recreating the original type of natural jungle environment that existed here before.

The Organization for Tropical Studies has determined the types of trees needed to repopulate the forest of this area that will bring back the natural plants and animal habitats.

In recent years “Planting with a Purpose” the single act of planting a tree to bring long lasting benefits to the planet, has become a popular activity worldwide. Everyone can participate!

Hundreds of species of birds and other forms of wildlife are dependent on the forests in Costa Rica. Planting a tree will help promote sustainability of life for an entire eco-system.

The 1 to 1.5-hour tour includes a bilingual guide and a fresh cup of coffee. Please wear enclosed hiking shoes and bring insect repellent, rain gear, binoculars and your camera if you like. Transportation is NOT provided for this tour. In addition to this being a reforesting tour, it can also be a memorable experience for children, students, and adults participating in a small act that can give huge benefits to the planet.
