The Snuba Catalinas Tour is a fun and different way to discover and explore a magical underwater world. Snuba is a cross between snorkeling and scuba diving but the cumbersome diving tank is floating on a raft instead of attached to your back. A long air hose is connected to the tank on the raft and attaches to your mouthpiece providing you with air. A chest harness is securely fastened to a tether which allows you to dive down to 20 feet. No certification is required to go Snuba diving as you are always within easy reach of the surface.
Your Snuba tour begins at the Snuba shop in Playa Flamingo at a predetermined time, so transportation to and from your hotel will be provided. You will meet with other groups that will be traveling on the same boat for their tour choices. Fruit, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks including alcoholic refreshments that can be consumed after the dive is completed. The boat has a restroom and a fresh water shower for your convenience. There is storage to keep your personal items dry and secure.
The Catalinas Islands are a popular diving destination in the northern province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica, and lie 2 to 15 miles off the coastline. Because there are no estuaries to leave silt or rocks in the water during the rainy season, visibility is usually consistently good in this area. This diving experience is available at any time with visibility of about 15 to 75 feet year round. Snuba in Guanacaste’s offshore Catalinas Islands has become a very popular sport. Your single dive will lasts between 30 and 45 minutes but your memories will likely last a lifetime!
Please bring your bathing suit, a dry change of clothing, and non-skid shoes. Also, it is recommended that you bring your camera, sun block, a towel, and a hat to protect you from the sun. The total time of the boat tour with underwater dive can last from 3 to 4 hours. As a reminder, the tour starts at the Snuba shop in Flamingo and does provide transportation to and from your hotel. With the lack of heavy diving equipment, this is a hands-free opportunity to take some wonderful underwater photos.

This was my favorite day in Costa Rica, by far. The tour was amazing and the guides were so patient with my boyfriend and I as we struggled to grasp the idea of snuba-ing. Once we got the hang of it, my mind was blown! It was such a beautiful place and quite honestly, we both had the best time that day!

Mike and Max are THE BEST!!! We had such a great day with these boys. They were very professional and helpful. The entire experience was AMAZING! We saw so many different kinds of animals while under the water and the boys knew exactly where to spot them.
