Find your place to stay
Arenas del Mar Beach and Nature Resort in Manuel Antonio offers a unique five-star, five-leaf sustainable experience where rainforest meets the beach across eleven acres. Guests can enjoy diverse landscapes, from forest trails to the sandy shore, with opportunities for wildlife viewing. The resort features a swimming pool, complimentary yoga, and a wellness center, complemented by dining options ranging from an open-air, ocean-view restaurant to a casual beachside bar. Accommodations provide comfort with various amenities, balancing on-site tranquility with regional adventures.
Rainforest and beach meet at Arenas del Mar Beach and Nature Resort, giving a Manuel Antonio stay two landscapes to enjoy without leaving the property. The hotel occupies a bluff above the coast, with eleven acres of forest extending toward the sand. A walk through the grounds, time at the beach and a meal with an ocean outlook can all belong to the same leisurely day.
The five-star resort is part of the Cayuga Collection, with a five-leaf sustainability distinction and a boutique setting. Tropical gardens and the forest encourage you to spend time outdoors, with opportunities to look for birds, monkeys and sloths. Wildlife is part of the fascination of this landscape, though particular sightings are never certain; leave room to enjoy the trails and beach for their own sake as well. Manuel Antonio’s palm-fringed beaches and forested hills provide the broader backdrop, with the hotel’s nature focus extending into the time you spend on its own grounds.
The beach below the resort offers space for walks, relaxation and boogie boarding, with swimming dependent on conditions. Forested hills and palm-fringed shorelines make the coast appealing even on a day you prefer to stay out of the water. The surrounding landscape can be enjoyed in those quieter moments as well as on a guided outing.
A swimming pool and complimentary yoga offer different ways to slow the pace. Las Brisas Wellness Center provides facials, massage and other treatments, with reservations recommended at least a day in advance. Planning a treatment ahead lets you keep some of the stay free from excursions and enjoy the property more fully.
Dining follows the terrain. El Mirador Restaurant and Bar is open-air, overlooking the beach and serving breakfast and dinner, with fresh seafood and Costa Rican dishes among the choices. Gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan dietary requests can be accommodated. Down by the beach, Playitas Restaurant and Bar serves lunch and drinks. The health-conscious cooking uses local ingredients whenever possible, bringing the region into the meal as well as the view. El Mirador Bar extends the evening with tropical cocktails, craft beers and wine.
Rooms include air conditioning and ceiling fans, cable television, a coffee maker with local coffee, WiFi, a telephone, an in-room safe, bathrobes and a spacious bathroom with a shower. Individual categories have different amenities, so compare those details when deciding where to stay. WiFi covers most areas of the property rather than every corner of the grounds.
Beyond the resort, Manuel Antonio National Park provides a focus for guided wildlife outings. Catamaran cruises, canopy adventures, whitewater rafting, waterfall canyoneering and surfing add other ways to enjoy the region. Balance those plans with time on the forested property; the relationship between beach and rainforest is a substantial part of the experience here.
Maintenance in rooms and public areas is scheduled from August 31 through November 11, 2026. The hotel plans to minimize disruption and accommodate guests, but the work may affect the stay. Discuss your dates and plans with your vacation specialist before choosing the resort.

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The staff was amazing and the views incredible.
This hotel exceeded expectations. I can not wait to come back !!
Exceptional hotel start to finish.
We loved our suite and thought this was the most beautifully situated property. The hotel has a great staff and the bar and restaurants are good. They have happy hour and special movie nights for the kids which was fun.
From the time we arrived with the golf cart all decked out with balloons and sign for our fifty anniversary to the fabulous private dinner on the beach and the beautiful flower arrangement it was a trip we will never forget.
Great place right on the beach. Staff was excellent!
The Good: Wonderful private beach and beach staff. Great Bell staff and always on time, every time. Everyone got us where we wanted to go, when we wanted to go. Absolutely loved the location and grounds. The Not So Good: (And VERY frustrating). We paid for the Ocean Breeze with outdoor jaccuzzi overlooking the beach. It worked exactly 1 night of our 5 night stay. The other 4 nights the pump would attempt to begin but would not find power to cause flow. We called, they would send someone later, and it still would not work when we tried to use it later in the evening. We were able to use it for about an hour on our last night at the resort. I really think there should be some type of restitution on this matter since it was a highlight of booking that particular class of suite. Finally, I suppose ice is a prized commodity there. We had to CONSTANTLY request ice and they would bring a small amount in a small unninsulated bucket and ice would be gone in minutes. Call again, ask for larger bucket and get one but it would be 1/2 full at best. I really got tired of tipping for an ice delivery every 25 minutes.
Must try to do something about lizards in the room. I know the place is surrounded woods and they are very cautious about environment but the lizards in the room is just not good thing.
The staff was impeccable. Always asking if we needed anything. They arranged transportation every night when we went to dinner. Very eager to make sure we had a good time. Excellent choice. Also right on the beach.
Magical place. We have never encountered a hotel or service like this in our life. Will definitely return even though it is costly.
Very accommodating
The staff was exceptionally accommodating especially with providing Elaine a special bed.
