Find your place to stay
Country Inn and Suites in San José's Cariari area offers a tranquil retreat near Juan Santamaría Airport, ideal for both initial and concluding nights in Costa Rica. Guests can enjoy two swimming pools amidst tropical gardens, a complimentary fitness center, and convenient dining options. The hotel serves as an excellent base for exploring Central Valley attractions like Poás Volcano and coffee tours, or for business travelers needing high-speed internet and meeting facilities.
Two swimming pools and tropical gardens give Country Inn and Suites a welcome pause between travel days. In San José's Cariari area, near Juan Santamaría Airport, the hotel works well for a first or last night in Costa Rica, with enough space to settle in rather than simply wait for a flight.
Cariari puts airport days and regional outings into the same stay. Poás Volcano, coffee visits, museums, the National Theater, rafting and ziplining can shape time beyond the pools. Nearby restaurants, bars, casinos and shopping—from local stores and craft markets to larger malls—add options for an evening or a spare afternoon. Ask your planner about specific attractions, including INBio Park and zoo visits, before arranging a day around them.
Standard Rooms include air conditioning, cable television, coffee-making facilities and a safe, plus a hair dryer, telephone and iron with ironing board. Complimentary daily newspapers are part of their inclusions. Junior Suites add separate living rooms to those comforts; the Presidential Suite's kitchenette and living room with a sofa bed make more independent time possible. Executive Rooms include a complimentary breakfast buffet in a private lounge and 3 free minutes of local calls; confirm that category when planning your stay.
A buffet breakfast, a swim among the gardens and time in the free guest fitness center can make a travel day feel pleasantly settled. The business center and high-speed internet support work between outings, and the meeting room is available to rent. Cribs and special requirements can be requested in advance. The restaurant and bar keep dining and evening drinks close at hand.

Great breakfast and staff. The room we had appeared to be an older part of the motel with narrow/steep steps to get up to the loft/bed area. Older furniture and TV. Was fine for the night since we there only for a short time. Would prefer a different room for a longer stay.

Front desk reception very friendly.

There was no bar at the hotel & general location for things outside the hotel were poor.

would have liked a fridge and an area that had some food options

Arriving late we checked into an unrenovated room. On our return, we requested a renovated room which was good. Breakfast and service was great.

Just there for overnight...but everything was great...they even gave us a breakfast to go.

Met our expectations just fine. A jacuzzi would have been a nice addition but no worries. The restaurant was quite good! Very adequate for a airport waiting hotel. Not where you want to stay long term but a good hotel for proximity to airport.

The bathroom was very tiny.

Only there one short evening, but it met all of our needs. Was great receiving an envelope upon check in with details pertaining to pickup the next morning.

Please do not send other clients to this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the hotel is extremely noisy. It is very worn and dated, no hot water, bad smell covered up by worse smelling room deodorant. Horrible place.

It's an OK airport hotel. Comfortable & clean. The restaurant was OK but there was no bar, as advertised.

Just a hotel near the airport. Hard to find a place to have dinner.

Hotel was just a basic hotel near the airport. The wait was very long for our room, even though the hotel was barely occupied. The woman behind the counter would not give us a different room however, she insisted that check-in wasn't until 4:00 so if we had to wait in the lobby for a long time, so be it. After over an hour, a nice man came to work the counter with her and immediately gave us the room keys and comped us two drinks to make up for the inconvenience. Restaurant staff was very nice however.

The staff made us box breakfast since we were leaving so early for our flight which was appreciated

Our rooms were located in a building that felt more like staff quarters or a dormitory, than a hotel. The rooms were dingy and our two young teenage sons were put in a room on a completely separate floor from us. It was not what we were expecting at all. Given we were leaving early the next day and tired from a day of travel, it wasn't worth the effort to try to get new rooms.

OK for an airport hotel. Food in the restaurant was not good.

Very nice, friendly, and helpful people. Great atmosphere, food, location. Overall absolutely nothing negative to say. Would highly recommend.

The bathroom was really small with the design of the counter causing the toilet seat cover to press against your back when using the toilet. Strange design and uncomfortable. It was a clean, small, room but after we had stayed in such nice hotels the entire trip this hotel did not really compare but I think chose a cheaper hotel at the end of the trip so we could stay a few more days?? It was fine.

A simple hotel. Adequate. We were on the third floor, too bad there wasn't an elevator but they were happy to arrange someone to help carry down the luggage in the morning. They are located next to a couple of great restaurants and a fun and classy sports bar. I'd stay there again for that. Or I'd spend a little more and stay at the Doubletree which looked nicer. For the price this place is just fine.
